Hi there,
I borrowed a book from the library yesterday and realised it would be perfect for my daughter (30yo), so I've ordered it from Amazon -
Purls of Wisdom: The Book of Knitting, £10.81.
Could anyone advise me about what 8 year olds like for presents? triplets - 2 girls and 1 boy. I don't see them often as they live too far away. I usually send money, £15 each but I would like to give a gift if possible instead.0 -
just got a load of books n some hello kitty pjs for the LOs from lidl added £10 to the weekly shop but lidl has saved me more than that anyway! The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50

Well I have a 9 yr old DD but this isn't much help as she's mad about football! But I'm trying to convert her to being a girl by buying her clothes (nice reasonably priced clothes in Peacocks/Matalan/supermarket), handbag to hold her purse/sweets, music CD or DVD, books, etc0

There is an angry birds game in argos which is £20 down to £8 im not sure if its just for this week though, its age 8+ and it looks really good. I've just bought it for my ds for his birthday (he'll be7 at christmas, so a little young but never mind) if you can't get hold of this game, I would look at the other angry birds games they stock.
I have a 9year old to buy for this christmas and after speaking to her mum, I have decided to do her a hair and make hamper; girls make up and nail varnishes, bobbles, hair slides etc. I was going to get her a hair dryer, but she has already requested one from someone else!
If I were you I would either go down that route, or a crafty hamper, knitting/sewing set maybe.Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -

My kids have a mini hi-fi (less than £100) which they use to listen to the radio, CD's & it has a docking station on it. Got it from Argos. I got them as I knew they'd want Ipods in the future & even better? I use them when cleaning to listen to my music!
May be better to buy something he can have multi use from it rather than just speakers?
This is the one I bought: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9034840.htm

Just for info - the lad may be interested in a Ludo/Snakes & ladders game? Back to basics in this techno age!

Made a start on OH's Christmas eve hamper this week

Bought microwave butterkist popcorn for 39p and a nice mug with his initial on to drink his hot choc out of, for 99p. Both from Home Bargains.
Need to buy:
Pjs Pants
Aero Hot Chocolate
Christmas DVD
So will look for those on offer and maybe buy 'Elf' from Amazon.
Also saved £20 towards Christmas this week and £3 towards works Christmas do.
I'm excited now!
I want Christmas to come faster! Bored with Summer now lol. September Grocery Challenge £0/£2250 -
