hopefully my children will last til xmas (although the way this summer holidays is going im not so sure)

I'd also recommend home bargains for toys. You can often find good toys in there for good prices :)

Can anyone suggest where to find a good quality nurses outfit for an almost 5yo niece? Her birthday is in January, so we tend to buy a present for Christmas and give her parents cash for her birthday along with a h/m birthday cake.

Maddywaddy - Do you have a Smyths toy shop near you? They had a few decent deals on the other week when i popped past. You might be able to get all the children's presents in there, Because it looked like they done everything age related - But i could be wrong!?

I brought some stocking fillers for all the women in our families yesterday from Av0n sale booklet. For £7.50 i got enough spa products for 6 women. Also brought another gift set. so at least we have one, Of many women completed.

For the person asking about next gift-sets Just pink? I believe they no longer stock it in store, I love it but when i asked in 2 of our next stores they said they was going through a rebranding. :(

I suspected this would be the case, boo! Thanks for the info though.

Good value perfumes - M&S own brand are brilliant and loads of people never think about them when it comes to perfume. Mini purse sprays £3.50 (limited range), bigger purse sprays (25ml) £7 or so, 100ml £15-£20. It's designer-type scents so I think that's really good value. Azure Breeze is a dead ringer for D&G Light Blue for instance (which I love).

Superdrug own-brand is really nice (my sister likes the Flutter range so I might get her that instead). I wear one called Precious Woman which is a really nice sophisticated fragrance, not a teenage fragrance at all. Unfortunately you can only get it in-store once the Christmas stock is in which is annoying. A 50ml bottle is about £7, a purse-size one is about £4.

Personally I find Poundland etc perfume really harsh and like air freshener! I think it's an area where cheap doesn't always equal better value, personally speaking.

argos number 138/7650 they are pillow pets carla my kids have been asking for them for ages so happy i found them at a decent price

i know not totally xmassey but i got my daughters bday pressies done today dora bike and scooter for £21 (thanks HDUK)

starting to think about MIL and my parents (dad and partner who i rather like and mum) i have no idea about any of them so any tips would be nice

MIL is late 40s last child leaving home soon so is downsizing (not getting her anything big) diabetic and loves sci-fi (have bought her all the books for the series she reads and dvds she likes

mum - i have only spoken to for 6 months after not speaking for 7 years she is early 50s enjoys crafts (patchwork, cross stitch etc) apart from that i dont really know her

Dad and partner - both very highly paid and go out and get whatever they want dad is crazy about golf (when i take the kids over he will sneak out at 3am to play before getting back at 6 to spend time with the kids and let me have a lay in) his partner (female) is lovely but i dont really know her at all in previous years i have got her posh smellies but i think after 4 years with my dad i should try for something a bit more imaginative - did them a hamper of 'homemade' treats (bought from craft fair) last year

so i need something little from me and then something a bit bigger from the kids hopfully do both pressies for each person for around £50 (£30 for dads partner)

M&S and Superdrug are my go to places for perfume gift sets around christmas time too.

I find M&S is often forgotten about too but their ranges can be really good! I have personally started using their anti-aging range recently and I've really enjoyed using the products :)
  • what a good visit to argos I had today
I got two pieces of lego for my partners kids.
i was about £54 for the two. ouch, i hear you say but this is when i got my big success.

As i spent over £35 on lego i got a £5 gift voucher.
and then, i had spent over £50 i got another one !

so that means i have £10 in vouchers that need to be used up before september. I am very pleased with myself as i was staggering buying gifts over paydays
it is worth checking on what your buying if it does have a special deal with it
thanks for the heads up about argos clearance
