PayPal Chargeback TO MYSELF ?!

SO in short I was approaching the yearly limit of £1900 (about £300 off) and they said they thought there might be suspicious activity.

It was my friend sending money to my account; I now am in control of both accounts but they have been calling and emailing me about how I need pay back the funds TODAY or they will "have to employ other collection techniques" - which i assume means bailiffs.

BUT I DON'T HAVE THE £650 they want !

I'm 17 and don't have that kind of money, how can I pay this or make them see sense, I explained to them and they had none of it and both accounts are limited so there is now way in which I can get the money out of that account!

HELP !

OK, can you give a clearer time line.

You have two accounts A and B, you sent £650 from A to B ?

Where is the money now, what is the chargeback about, did the initial payment of £650 get recalled by the bank or something?

Two accounts, A & B - the money was sent from A to B and now PayPal have reversed the payments back to A.

A now has £650 and B has -£650 because there was no money in the account. The bank has not been involved; I don't have the money.

And I can't withdraw that £650 from A because PayPal limited the account ( Both A & B have been limited.)

You are supposed to not have a Paypal account until you reach age 18, anyone under this age is classed as illegal activity and Paypal can and will freeze the account .

As per user agreement. It is fraud you are committing.

To be eligible for our Services, you must (i) be a resident of one of the countries listed on the PayPal Worldwide page; (ii) have full legal capacity to enter into a contract; and (iii) if you are an individual, be at least 18 years old. If your story is true, you are not acting legit, no other reply is required, if you are only aged 17, you have no legal right to use Paypal, and must pay back the funds you have obtained, by opening an account with false information this is fraud, and you claim to have the use of not one but two Paypal accounts, so must have given fake information or a beneficiary as it says up there, pretending to be a "friend " of yourself, ie a 3rd party, which they have now checked and have detected the fraud online, and acted quickly when there has been suspicious activity on both accounts, and you have now been found out, they will close the accounts and pursue you for the balance.

they would have detected no fraud because the other account (A) is not mine; if you look back to my initial post i said its my friend's and i now have access to it. - He gave me the email and password so that i can deal with this.

If we were to believe that, he has then also broken his terms of service.

OK, if we were to assume that he was using the account again and the funds are there, both accounts are limited, what can i do and what are my options? forgetting about all these terms of service crap.

I'd very much rather not have bailiffs at my door !

    Please..

I assume at some point ebay have suggested verification and the age problem has prevented that being done as a matter of urgency. Also I assume at some point they believe you to be operating both accounts, which as has been said is against your user terms and conditions.

All you can realistically do is either borrow money from friends or family to cover the £650 debt in account B, wait for funds to be released on account A and pay your 'loan' back.

Other than that all you can do is sit and hide out from the bailiffs, they can't recover from you due to your age.

Although you have made fraudulent statements to paypal I do not believe they would proceed against you on that matter as again they cannot actually achieve anything by doing so- that is almost certainly why the funds are being held on account A to protect themselves as a cynical mind would suggest this is a great way of using your age to get money fraudulently from a bank or third party.

Whatever happens, you will obviously never be able to hold a paypal account or an ebay account in the future.

The "terms of service crap" as you put it, should be taken much more seriously as you have committed FRAUD and Paypal are within their rights to take serious issue with this. At the moment, they just want their money back, but you should be aware that they might want to take this further.

But that aside, if your account is now showing at negative £650 following the payment reversal then you must have had a debt there in the first place. So you were in debt of £650 and your friend transferred £650 to clear that debt. Why did your friend send you money? Is that original £650 debt his? If so, why can't he just pay you the £650 cash for you to pay in to your paypal account through your bank account?

If you're afraid that the bailiffs are going to turn up at (presumably) your parents' door then I think you should warn them now rather than waiting. Chances are they will want to clear the £650 debt rather than have that happen.
You had me at your proper use of "you're".
