Hi everyone. I've got a fine through the post last week for overstaying in Morrison's car park. I didn't know what to do and I paid the lower fine which was £50. I then heard of a lot of friends of the advise from here about ignoring the fine. Is it already to late?
anyone could help, please?

Too late !
Have a good read here now, and you'll know what to do if there's a "next time".0 -
No chance at all. (Unless you paid by cheque which you can stop)0

How did you pay?The word "gullible" isn't in the dictionaryTickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]
PPC Appeals: 8 [accepted: 2, rejected: 5, pending: 1]
POPLA: 4 [accepted: 4, rejected: 0, pending: 0]0 -
I paid on their website with a credit card
So it looks like I was just impatient and stupid!!!0 -
I may well be corrected by a 'regular' on here but even though you have paid their fake ticket you could still appeal against it to them, the PPC and when they reject said appeal they would then have to give you a POPLA code with which you can appeal the fake ticket with POPLA???? With help its winnable with POPLA and surely the PPC would be directed by POPLA to return any monies paid them???? I could be wrong......waiting to be corrected or confirmedGot a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0

Sounds good to me...only if I knew how to do it all. I know. I seam really thick now.lol :cool:0 -
Not stupid, they couch their tickets in such terms as to panic the unwary into paying. At least you will know in the future.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

If what I said is possible others here will help you with appeal to the PPC then the real appeal to POPLA. This way could mean you not only get your money back but it will cost the PPC £27 + VAT. But as I said, wait till someone more knowledgable posts.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0

You are still within time to appeal, but the clock is ticking so don't leave it too late. If Parking Eye turn down your appeal, you can then appeal to the independent body, POPLA. If POPLA uphold your appeal, and they should, given our help, then POPLA will require Parking Eye to refund your money.
If you lose at POPLA, Parking Eye may require you to pay the higher fine, so you will have to take this risk. However, a correctly worded appeal should not fail, and in any case Parking Eye cannot enforce this without going to court.
Currently we are seeing almost 100% success rate with correctly worded appeals at POPLA.
British Parking Association Code of practice states:
22.4 If a driver or keeper challenges a parking charge you must
review the case and decide whether to:
• uphold the parking charge and explain why it was
issued and should therefore be paid, or
• reduce or cancel the charge and take no further
management action other than informing the driver.
22.5 If the driver is due a refund of any fees, you must include
that payment – or written confirmation that you have
made the payment – with your reply.
Start with an appeal as soon as possible, plus also go to Morrisons and get them to write a letter cancelling the charge.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0
