Just checked the ISPreview website and am trying to cancel my order if they pick up the ruddy phone

i'm currently with ukonline and they are great. unlimited broadband is unlimited but it's costly at 19.99 for 8mb.

hmm..just dont know which way to go now.

i was thinking pipex but they seem to be in the same bed as tiscali.

can anyone recommend a complete line rental/8mb broadband package/inclusive phone call package?

I wouldn't cancel on the say so of just one website! I've been with tiscali for my broadband for a couple of years and I have never had any problems! Its difficult to know what to do really, you just need to weigh up all the pro's and cons.

I had broadband, phone and line rental with tiscali. I phoned up to see if they could swap me to the £19.99 with free line rental option. "Centainly" they said. "But first you will have to cancel your Tiscali Line Rental so that we can transfer you to the free line rental package". A bit strange I thought but did as they requested - I phoned tiscali on a different number to cancel my line rental. Then everything went downhill. On phoning the tiscali broadband team back I was told that I was told the wrong thing and I should never have cancelled my line rental! Now my ONLY option is to get my phone reconnected to BT with a different phone number. It appears that BT are the ONLY company who can connect a disconnected phone line and you must take out a 3 month line rental contract with them (btw if you add ANY options to the BT contract it becomes a 12 month contract).

The morale of this story is to never ask for your line rental to be stopped. Always ask a new supplier to transfer your line.

Don't take up tiscali on this offer although it seems cheap. There broadband is truely awful. Im on 8mb or so they say but downloads speeds around 60kbps.

I'm with Tiscali - true the Broadband speeds aren't great, but I've used them for a year now and they're OK. All ISPs hve their faults.

Anyway, I phoned Tiscali today and asked for a MAC - they offered me this deal (8Mb uncapped broadband & anytime UK phone calls) for £19.99, which I took, so now I'll see what it's like...

They threw in free Caller ID as well.

Haven't obviously heard about Tiscali's mail problem then? No outgoing mail and no help from Tiscali. Lovely service.
We've been with them for about 4 years, no problems til Xmas when slow speeds crept in. CS is a joke. Leaving them is a saga in itself, they might give you the MAC code but after that they stall you every which way. Had us down as LLU when we're definately not (datastream) which has cost us 2 weeks to move to another ISP.

Yes, it's true, when things are going right with Tiscali they are great, but as soon as it goes wrong, you're stuffed.
If you don't want to trust one website check out others, there are plenty of them! Just search for Tiscali complaints! Even their own forums are riddled with complaints!

just had email about the 19.99 deal,available here(Hastings) from December,will be interesting to see whether it happens,seems to good to be true.
