Well I went for the cheap Argos one because it's just for me :o I suppose OH can share it now and then... I thought it might ease my summer pregnancy a bit... also not super cheap once you add a pump and hose pipe so that it's smaller is fine for me :)

Err no, because I wrote "but I don't really know if thats true." Its only what I've been told.

Anybody know any online sites which sell the chemical pool cleaning kits, or if they are cheaper in DIY stores etc.

we bought one from argos last yr - the type with the inflatable ring round the top - do NOT buy these if you have cats (or your neighbour does) - the first night it was up we found it deflated in the morning as our cat had sat on the top and punctured it. We replaced it with a frame one from funkycrab, I can't recall how much it was but it was very, very competative, quick delivery and their other goods are reasonable too. I am sure I posted about it last yr.Its been sat covered all winter, just waiting for me to find some chlorine now!

I have a 10 ft pool - got it reduced last summer (beginning of summer) from superdrug I think it was about £19 with 10% off it was very cheap - actually am not sure what i paid for it but remember it being really really cheap compared with the price of the same pool in other places I dont think i would have paid over 20 pounds

    and................................

    .............. we HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We couldnt get the bottom flat not matter how much we tried (my mate did her 12ft one no probs so may just have been us)

Our son kept leaning on the side it and flooding the patio - that was the WORST thing about the pool

The filter is USELESS.... got a few fish nets from wilco in the end.

It went 'green' VERY quickly..... (my previous pool was a huge rectangle one - really massive bigger than this one didnt seem to go green so quickly) just got some sachets in b&q (recommended in a previous post to fix this problem).

My friend with the 12 foot bought a 'bubbly thing' that is supposed to keep the heat in the pool when not in use and she said it was naff!

I wouldnt recommend these pools - but my friend loves her 12ft one - it is personal choice.
Debt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)

I bought one of these last year but sent it back as the cable wasn't long enough. Instructions said you shouldn't use with an extension lead either. Bit daft I thought. Putting a short cable on a product that would clearly only be used in largish gardens

ISn't this because most people don't extend the reel enough and it can cause overheating - surely you could put a longer lead on it?

anyway - does the tesco 12ft one have a pump with it? might get a little manky otherwise!
