I still think its pretty stupid and simply a way of samsung squirming out of the warranty. is it just me or does this warranty not transferable thing sound ridiculous. does this happen with a car?? if i bought a 1 year old VW Golf does any warranty now become void.

the phone is the same phone, nothing else has changed apart from the owner.

Total joke Samsung, thinking of sending it back to my supplier (at least they will accept it back with no fuss) Iphone 5 here i come

Usually Yes. Some dealers and Makers offer more warranty, and allow it to be transferred (such as the Ford Direct Scheme) but there's no legal right for a warranty to be transferrable.

Sony are the same, original purchaser only gets the warranty.

However, what Samsung say on their website is
The warranty period applies from the date of purchase by the first customer and is transferable only between end-users.
Then they shamelessly deny that it's transferable when you call them.
That said, I don't know what "end-user" means here and how this restricts transferability.

Likewise and from all the worldwide posts that say Samsung refused warranty as no invoice not original customer etc . I take it as a Korean translation for NO .
