Yodel 'non-existent' attempted deliveries & 'invisible' cards left?

I wondered if anyone can advise if I'm just unlucky or if this has happened to anyone else. I was booked and expecting a new PC to be delivered via Yodel today, so stayed in all day...

Nothing happened, all day... yet I note the official tracking record shows 2 delivery attempts at 2pm and 6pm, with attempted delivery cards apparently being left through the door...

Only there are no cards and we haven't had ANY callers except the postman this morning. I have had to reschedule delivery for Thursday... if it happens! :(

Is this 'attempted delivery' nonsense a common theme with Yodel? I can't stay in every day until Yodel feel like delivering! Has Anyone found a way of getting this sorted?

I would also say Tweet them - they will soon pull their socks up! Any time I've had to complain to a courier, I've done it via Twitter and got a swift resolution!

I have had this a few times with Yodel.
Personally I would prefer to see "ran out of time" on the tracking than for them to lie about having left a card when they have been nowhere near.

They did this to me last year.
As far as the seller can see, Yodel are brilliant as they have attempted multiple deliveries.
As far as the driver is concerned, your parcel isn't worth the 70-odd pence they get paid.
There was an interview on MSE with the CEO who claimed everything was ticketyboo despite what customers say.
Your best bet is to print out the online tracking and go down their depot.

I had this with Collect+ recently - 2 days in a row with the tracking saying "attempted delivery" when thay had clearly just run out of time. It was delivered on day 3.

    It is very annoying.

Contact the sender, ask them to contact Yodel too.

Also, if/when it does arrive check the package before signing. I had a new tablet delivered from them and the packaging had been tampered with and the tab removed. Seller replaced, but apparently Yodel had been using a holiday relief driver.

    Have you phoned Yodel ?

I had a problem and the customer service guy was honest about things.

My parcel was a day later and we received a decent apology of the driver with a true explanation as to what had happened.

I had a laptop ordered from Asda that was meant to be delivered between 8am-1pm via Yodel last Thursday. The tracking just said on the van. I rang Asda when it was not delivered by 1pm, who apologised and after contacting Yodel said the driver was running late and it would be delivered and refunded my delivery charge. By 3pm I was not impressed so did a bit of googling and found the direct telephone number for the local Yodel depot it was coming from. A very nice chap rang the driver for me and confirmed he would be with me within half an hour. He claimed Asda had not given them the 8am-1pm next day instructions and hence it was out for an all day delivery within 48 hours. Sure enough the chap arrived within 30 minutes of my call. I would ring your local depot tomorrow after the item shows loaded on the van on the tracking and ask them to ring the driver for an estimated time of arrival.

People want cheap couriers. This is the result.
  • Forewarned is forearmed!! Yodel ,appears in dictionary....as a verb- to yodel , or a noun as in -a song...

It appears that the Dictionary should be updating the definition to the true meaning

YODEL: (n) a second rate courier company, the drivers seem to be handpicked from societies worst thieves, liars and twits who are self employed delivery drivers in bashed up cars and vans, they will make the rules up as they go along ,pretending to have delivered your items, pretending to have left a card, and they feature in several real life docus and watchdog type telly programmes dating back many years to when they were Home Delivery Network Ltd , they are also behind Collect+ and if you WANT your items to go missing, then please do use them as your courier service! Contact Yodel at once, if you want a headache that won't shift even with Anadin Extra, and to be shafted out of your goods!
NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself"
