Can't you splash out on a blank DVD?

    Otherwise, try it with Rufus

Does the Lenovo G780 not have One key recovery ,where you can recover the system in case of failure,it means you lose your files but you will have a working laptop

Problem is my netbook doesn't have a DVD drive so no way to burn one.

Just tried Rufus but got an ISO extraction failure

Problem is, if I understand it right, you need to have created a back up/recovery disc. Which I'm ashamed to say I never did!

My lenovo laptop is a different model but if you press the one key recovery key it launches the recovery mode from where you can perfom a factory install but it will delete your files.

Just tried that but launches back into the system repair loop, whether I choose one key recovery or instant reset. agh!

You seem really unlucky. How did you get Ubuntu working?? :)

Try the same Universal USB Installer that you used for Ubuntu. It has an option for Windows 7.

Also tried making it from ISO to USB, try it with that then get 'remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart' when I try booting the Lenovo with it
