The obvious option is to use the Try Ubuntu to burn the image to disc with your laptop DVD drive.

Right finally managed to burn a bootable W7 USB. Whoop
Tried the 'repair windows' but no joy - same as before.
Take it its just a case of going through the 'install now' process?
Many thanks again for your help0 -
Slowly losing the will to live now. Clicked on install windows, now get a Load Driver error popup saying "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers and then click OK"

You weren't just going to repair...... but to go on to use Command Prompt.0 -
Did you try the one key recovery with the laptop off?It should have given you a system recovery option,
There is a manual available if you google it but cant link as it comes up invalid.0 -

You need to actually follow the Recovery Environment link that I provided for you.
Is your hard drive and Windows 7 installation actually recognised there or is it asking you to 'Load Drivers'?
Seems you are getting impatient and skipping steps.
Have to go out.0 -
try http://www.manualowl.com/m/Lenovo/G780/Manual/289294?page=37,you may need to c&p if link is invalid.0

I'm not able to use one key recovery. If I select either option (after having pressed the one key button on the keyboard) it just kicks back into the repair sequence/loop0 -

TBH bit lost as to what I should be doing when I'm in cmd prompt.
If I look at D dir I can see Windows in there but just looks like 'basica' stuff ie none of my programs or documents etc.
If I look at C there's just a bat and mfgstat showing.
Bit worried as to whats happened to everything as I thought C drive was where everything should be?
Plus of course I can't install Windows due to the driver issue0
