  • AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. We recently purchased a mattress from them through Groupon. When it came it was not of very good quality (was hard to believe it was really worth the original amount quoted in the groupon ad) and was also the wrong size for our bed. We had opened a corner of the packaging slightly to look at it but never even put it on our bed. Bed and Mattress World have refused to take it back, even though my husband emailed them at least half a dozen reasons they are in breach of the distance selling regulations. They either do not reply to emails or are rude if you phone them and tell you to email them instead. They just ignore you completely. We are now £190 out of pocket. Awful company, awful product, awful customer service.

    AVOID AVOID AVOID both Beds and Mattress World & Groupon for a mattress

    We bought a 3000 spring mattress from Beds and Mattress World that was advertised as being over £900 albeit reduced through Groupon to replace an existing mattress that was 9 years old

    There is major sagging on both sides. You can also feel the odd spring when lying flat on your back, which makes a noise when your partner moves. Don’t get me wrong, I expect wear and tear but all this after 9 months?

    Groupon don’t care and send a petty email simply stating “can’t return mattresses”. I understand if I changed my mind after a few days and decided I did not want it, but clearly I am complaining about the item not being fit for purpose as well as possibly being faulty (springs) .

    There seems to be such poor feedback about this company. Please avoid buying a mattress via Groupon, longer term it is not worth it, no matter how good the deal looks

    You have every right to return the mattress as faulty or not fit for purpose. If you have problems, then contact Trading Standards.

    EXACTLY the same experience here re the product and supplier. We haven't tried Groupon yet but will do.

    Have just given Beds and Mattress World 14 days to resolve failing which we intend to sue. I will also report them to Trading Strandards.

    Awful people and Groupon would be well advised to think carefully about who they promote in future. If this sort of thing becomes the norm, Groupon will lose custom very quickly.

    This company stinks of a total lack of customer service.

    I am a landlord, my tenants complained about two new mattresses I had bought only 3 months prior. I was skeptical to say the least, however when I looked, the tenants had a fair point. The wire frame was awfully noticeable. Not really Mattress Worlds fault as they sell hundreds of mattresses but how they treat me is sub standard.

    I email the inquiry for, no answer in the 1st working day, next day I call them on the premium rate number and 12 minutes later I hang up without an answer.
    I call again but press option for sales, answered in a minute. Sorry we can't help you must call the complaints line.

    I wait till 9am exactly next day to ensure no cue and no buyers on sales line and get an answer within a few minutes.

    I explain the problem but the assistant tells me it's a customer preference issue but I can assure you it's a sub standard product not fit for purpose, a mattress should not be allowing you to feel a wire frame. I can feel this bunch are not in the returns mood.

    Straight in with the big guns for me without a word. Formal letter sent recorded delivery quoting a) Sale of Goods Act 1979 b) Item not fit for purpose c) Desired Way Forward.
    I would have gone to the small claims court if need be as whats right is right. They managed a call back this time with another attempt at refusal of my claim but when I insisted it was not fit for purpose and my proposed action should they not listen, they eventually agreed.

    Great, I have two new mattresses which I paid the difference for. Now where's my receipt for the cash difference? Another 20 minutes on premium local rate telephone number and I give in.

    They do not care about you. Tread Carefully.
  • Hi I am also having problems with this company, purchased and ottoman bed through groupon and after 11 months the side rail fell off and ottoman collapsed. Being trying to get this sorted for over 2 months now, they will only replace the part but I'm not happy and want a refund as feel it's not safe and very dangerous . Spoken to so many people and spent ages on the phone but they ignore calls and emails, any suggestions??
  • Trading Standards. I now have a new mattress, but it only happened after I reported them
  • After being told by the courier that my item would be arriving between 11:30 and 15:30 I had to take the day off work to be able to receive the item. At 15:30 I had still not received any call from them or the courier as to where my order was. I decided to call the courier directly only to find out the delivery van had broken down. It would be nice to have been told this! Despite this I was told my delivery would arrive within 1.5 hours. Nothing. I am still waiting, I called Mattresses World and was told that due to their poor communication with the courier I would not find out for another day when my delivery could be rescheduled. I was told I would not be reimbursed for my wasted holiday day and refused a refund credited to my card as the item had not yet arrived. I was told that the delivery is not guaranteed , despite it saying on the website next day delivery or select a day(which I did) I understand the communication between the two must be terrible but how on earth do they not know how one another works? Appalling . This has been a very frustrating experience and I therefore DO NOT recommend Mattresses World or Arrow XL to ANYONE. I really don't understand why the company have a customer service line when they seem to lack the very thing. I sincerely regret ordering from Mattresses World due to this experience, oh and I also managed to find the same mattress 20 pounds cheaper on the Silent Night website. BUYER BEWARE!!!:mad:

    I really hope you didn't still go ahead and buy a Silentnight? There are loads of threads on here warning about them.
