  • I read a really interesting article in the Observer last month, which is available online here:

And you are always believe what the press print right...???

Go and find new build, something that is shared ownership or full ownership, but NEW BUILD, and there is a for gone conclusion that there WILL be a percentage of social housing...

Much like where i bought my flat... 54 flats and 12 of them where social housing...

And then ask how many of them work, how many of them have a job in the last 5 years, how many of them are single parent...

They will NOT be the figures the government report that is for sure...

And i know for a fact that of the 12, only 1 of them had 2 adults "living" in the flat... And guess what, both on benefits, driving a brand new car, and as a bus driver, i used to pick them BOTH up to take them to work...!!! CASH...

So please don't tell me that it is not what people think it is... It is rampant and it happens, and it goes on on every street of every city in the UK, and no newspaper report is ever going to tell me otherwise...

As a slightly different example, my Mother lives in a really nice expensive area in a Marina on the south coast, and guess what, of the 12 houses in her street, 6 are rented privately by people on benefit... Her next door neighbour is being evicted for not paying her rent and causing merry hell because she will be on the street as a single parent with 4 kids, ALL by different fathers, and the car in the drive...??? A range Rover Sport...!!!

Tell me how this is right, how it is allowed to happen, and that i am just unlucky to see so benefit scroungers and fraudsters and they don't really exist...! Haha

Kevin, you hatred between the unemployed and single parents is really quite alarming. Disturbing even :-/

I have no problem with benefits, it is a necessary evil, i also have no problem with single parents, what i have a problem with is the attitude that it is OK to constantly breed numerous children with different fathers, reaping the rewards of a very generous benefit system so there is no need to ever work for a living...!

So ask yourself, why IS the benefit system under so much strain...??? Is it because there are way too many eligible, or that it is too easy to get, or that we are seen as the softest touch in Europe and that is why we have such an immigration problem...???

When someone actually does something about the benefit system that corrects this, it will be a better system for all, at the moment it is fragmented, broken and abused...

And no one in there right mind can deny that...!

It should be a stepping stone from bad luck back into a working life, not a career choice...!!!

    Totally unnecessary and immature comment.

You're completely missing the fact that he's paying more than his fair share of income tax and NIC.

You think this man's situation is causing the UK to be in a mess? How about those who take and contribute zero???

He also seems to want to pay above and beyond the necessary maintenance.

    Nothing to criticize here.

Not with a good accountant and a limited company he isn't!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
