Pet hates when travelling

All very good points (and  at the unwashed hands - I loved the smell of the handwash liquid in the public area loos and couldn't get enough of it!).
My reasons are somewhat more prosaic than yours, e.g. waiting almost five hours for my luggage to reach my cabin, when my travelling companions had theirs by the time we reached our corridor; the (small!) pool/s being either out of use or full of shrieking kids; "at sea" days which seem to go on forever; showers with non-removable heads (a regular bugbear of mine)... oh and being seasick in the Bay of Biscay!
On the plus side though, it's nice to have your own space for the whole duration of your holiday, and not have to worry about getting from A to B. Mind you, the train services to Southampton were quite overcrowded, and that's with us going down the day before the cruise sailed!
I don't mind at all. Aside from what I've already mentioned cruising is a fabulous holiday and we've had fantastic family holidays onboard ships.
Nothing beats relaxing on your balcony listening to the waves lapping against the ship!

lights in hotel rooms... not bright enough for make up application or hair doing... fine for men...but not for me! drives me mad!
oh and inconsistencies in the biscuit distribution.... some days you get 2 pks, some days one, some days none at all! Its the first thing we race to when opening the door... to see who gets the best biccies!0 -

Lol now that was a bone of contention for us... okay in the daytime, but at night OH wanted the balcony door wide open so he could listen to the "whoosh whoosh whoosh" of the waves, while I was happy with a small opening for ventilation, but couldn't sleep when the "whoosh whoosh whoosh" turned into "crash crash crash" on a couple of particularly wild nights! This was sailing from New York to Bermuda, and it did get a bit rough, to say the least. (That was another seasick occasion- not sure I'm cut out for sailing!
).
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

In Europe I often chat to the very nice (usually) Polish
chambermaid that fills the coffee/tea/biscuit basket and
she always gives me an extra finger or two.0 -
I hate the way even the shortest flight is just one big money-grabbing event with the cabin crew intent on selling you as much stuff as possible: food (I use the term loosely!), drink, magazines, duty-free stuff, scratch cards, more food and drink... They're so busy trying to sell things that the aisle is constantly blocked and nobody can sit still and relax. Can't we manage for a couple of hours without shopping or eating?0

As I said, it was already on my plate. If I take one croissant in total and decide to have it laterinstead of it being thrown away, hardly stealing?0 -
"Two croissants, a bit of bread, a couple of slices of cheese... Before you know it, you've got lunch"
That's a hell of a diet you're on!0 -
