Blackberry/Twitter error - BWP Security Token Retrieval Failed

Daughter has just got new Blackberry Curve 9320 on Talktalk.

She gets the above error message when trying to log onto Twitter, and is also unable to log onto Facebook.

I have spent over 2 hours this evening trying to sort, including re-registering through the Host Routing Table and restarting phone.

Also spent 25mins on phone to Talktalk who hadn't got a clue, then got cut off, and when redialled they had closed at 6!

Has anyone seen this before, can anyone advise what we need to do please?

I'm very frustrated with it!

Have you got the BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) set up?

Check Services Status as above. If BIS is connected by either Mobile Internet or WiFi..

Try a different version

1. Copy the .jad file to your sdcard
2. Open up your media icon
3. Click on the menu button
4. Click explore
5. Find your .jad file on your sdcard (media card)
6. Click on the .jad file

It should do an install just like OTA (over the air).

Oh dear you're dealing with a technophobe - what's a .jad file?

(I can use my blackberry btw - I'm not totally thick!)

If her BBM is working then your BIS is set up.

As an aside, where it is that you live that there is no 3G access? (I don't actually want to know where you live )

Its now come up with the 3G & BB symbol but also have no internet access.

Do you think the service books need resending? Talktalk technical were very helpful but didn't seem to know what to do.

Does she have data included in her bundle, as well as BIS.

Something similar happened to my daughter on Giffgaff, she had BIS so could get BBM to work but her goodybag didn't have data included so internet wouldn't. As soon as we changed her goodybag to include data all was well.

Hi, thanks to all for replying.

Her bundle does include data.

She can send/receive e-mails & BBM and connect to BB App World.

She can't connect to Twitter, Facebook or the internet via the Browser app.

We refused data roaming when we registered it - perhaps we shouldn't have done? I thought this was for international use?

Googling it seems to indicate it may be the service books need resending?

I am a bit of a technophobe so if anyone has any ideas I can suggest when I call later I would appreciate it.
