Dummy Home CCTV Camera's Neighbour Dispute. Police Called.

tbh I bet the picture quality on most cctv isn't good enough to identify anyone more than a few metres away, but the neighbours have probably seen too many films where you can zoom in to minute details from miles away.
Actually, not long ago we fitted a CCTV system with excellent resolution, could easily identify someone from further away than you normally would.
No, we're not really into CCTV, just he was already our client anyway. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
It was mentioned above that the neighbouring biz may be a counselling service. Now I can see what the issue is: Clients of that service may be exceptionally sensitive to their IDs being known due to the type of counselling they seek. Think "Google Street View" and all that when individuals can be identified in the Street View pics.
It might have been better right from the start to have a quiet word and fully explain the purpose of the camera to the neighbour.... trouble is, it will alarm their clients and cannot be explained to them easily.. but all in all it looks like you have an unlucky situation of needing to have a camera but a have a neighbour who needs the exact opposite.0 -
You can't beat living next door to an !!!!!! can you, I got one too. They currently have a sofa in the garden that will probably be there until Christmas.Nothing to see here, move along.0

Can you look at the problem from a different point of view - if the issue is litter being chucked into your garden, would it be possible to build a higher fence or similar to avoid it rather than putting up the dummy camera?0

Why should they have to go to that expense of having a higher fence installed, plus from what the OP has said about the neighbour, you could guarantee they would complain about it and the council would have more powers to have that fence brought down than they do for some cctv camera.
Maybe these counsellors need to go see a counsellor of there own for there anger and personnel problems. Makes you wonder how they became a counsellor with there own problems as they are.
At the end of the day, these neighbours have created the situation.
Personally i would get rid of dummy cameras and place a full CCTV system in it's place.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
Sad to hear you’re having problems with your neighbor regarding this matter. However you have every right to have those cameras installed in your property. If the cameras are located within your property and they do not, in any way, overhang your neighbor’s property, then there’s no basis for him ask for it to be taken down. Just explain to him that your cameras do not cover what’s within his property.0

I would simply put a note under CCTV saying
"CCTV in operation here but not in the house on left or right. You might get lucky there"
Just check if his name is Jesse Dimmick.

If it is a problem with the installation of security camera which also monitors some premises of the neighbor, then consult with the security camera solution provider. Adjust and install the security camera according to the law and tell neighbor about the area, which is under monitor. If still problem persists, then take the help of security surveillance camera adviser.0

even if you had a camera, and it did record 'some' of the neighbours property, thats legal so long as the majority of the field of view covers your own property.
Dont lose sleep over it.

I imagine that as the issue is well over 6 months old it has all been resolved by now.0
