OP, couldn't get your post to quote properly, my biopsies were normal Drs haven't been able to diagnose me yet, 7 years and counting and been back intensively testing for the last 4 I think (I lose track!)

I would say in OP's defence Doctors, even with all their years of training and experience, do not always know best, there is no substitute at the end of the day for being the patient and knowing something is wrong. By all means work with Drs not tell them you are right, but I did think society had moved away from the cult of "Dr is always right".

I certainly won't accept being thrown on the medical scrapheap at the age of 26 by mine ("sorry don't know what other tests you can have try symptom management for 2 of your 3 main problems"), I agreed to the appointments to show willing, with every intention of going back when they aren't effective enough and demanding something is done!

So if all your friends are doctors how come they haven't given you a diagnosis and told you if you can get a prescription?

March2012 On these forums giving medical advice is not allowed so I think you need to consider the questions you are asking people and where those questions might be leading.

As a coeliac sufferer, I am entitled to gluten free produce on prescription. I choose not to use that service as the products are equally full of crap. It's far easier to learn how to live without those foods than try to replace them.

This is probably the best way to go - change your diet rather than pay for expensive substitutes.

There are lots of sites about the low carb way of eating. This cuts out many of the gluten-containing foods.
