Hi Julie i'd missed your updates..all caught up now
I hope you get a date soon for the knee replacement and aren't waiting too long
I'm in a similar position that we want to move but our ds1 is just starting yr 10 so we need to stay put for 2 years until he's finished his GCSE's....plus our credit rating is shot to pieces so we need to save as much money as we can and hope it improves a little by the time we're ready to move!
Please do keep posting it really does help you to stay motivated especially when you're in it for the long haulx

Just a quickie to update my totals, hasn't been a great weekend, spent most of yday in bed not feeling great been to Drs today she was really helpful. Just say Menopause has so many problems,
Felt a bit low so treated myself to some face cream off ebay and dyed my roots. Few pounds spend over weekend, nothing major.
Trying to sell a gig ticket as just really can't afford the petrol to get there this week. Fingers crossed.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Thanks DFW hopefully before Christmas
Calling hope you sell your ticket.
DH and I have decided to set ourself a few mini goals. We have a wide circle of friends who all love going out to eat. We've decided if we get any invitations between now and Christmas we are going to say no. Most People don't know our financial situation so just going to say we are saving for something special.
Instead I will invite people to our home to eat. I'm pretty good at cooking and have learnt to cook on a budget thanks to the OS board, hopefully we will get some invites back and it will all be so much cheaper.
Secondly we are going to make our lunches, hubby often calls in Mr T for his lunch, only a couple of pounds but it all helps
Thirdly hubby has said he is happy to get his clothes from the charity shop. Now I've been doing this for years but he was always very snobby about this, he is really on board this time.
Finally we are both going to try and think twice about buying anything we can do without, see if we can make do and mend or buy it cheaper second hand.
I can't believe he is finally getting what I have been banging on about for years.
Will start a spending diary tomorrow, our budget is pretty much nailed down with SC but it's the little hidden extras I want to try and do better with.
Have a good evening allStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all,
Feeling positive this morning. Had lots of fun with DGS last night and after the really positive talk I had with my dh yesterday I'm even feeling excited about paying our debt off.
So today's plans include
Making biscuits so that we don't need to buy any when we shop on Friday.
NSD I don't need anything and I can't walk anywhere anyway with my leg.
Check online banking [STRIKE]done[/STRIKE]
Watch some frugal living videos (for inspiration)
Phone sky and cancel the tv package, we only need the phone and internet and plan to buy a recording box when funds allow.
Put something I. The savings account even if it's only a few pounds
I'm also going to check out the survey sights and see if there is any money to be made.
Check out the loft for any more items I can sell on eBay.
Have a great day allStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all,
It's a beautiful day here so I shall peg some washing out to dry.
I had my appointment with my consultant yesterday. The upshot is I'm on the list for having my knee replaced. The waiting list is only 4/6 weeks so I should be done and dusted before Christmas. Yay :T oh but I'm scared as well ifykwim .
Anyway that's good I'm hoping after Christmas dh and I will be able to resume our nice long walks which in turn will help my weight loss, but I'm starting back on my diet, healthy eating plan today as I know this will aid my recovery after the operation.
We need some food shopping today, but just what is on my list, have plenty of stuff in the store cupboard and freezer and as it's the end of the month I shall be extra careful.
We've increased our SC payments from the beginning of November but I also think its so important to try and save.
I'm really hoping once I can get about more easily to get a job as well which will make a big difference to us.
My db and dsil plus niece and nephew are coming for a visit next summer from Australia for 3 weeks, so our plan is to move to the bedroom with an en suite. That way they will be able to share a bathroom. We should be able to fit them in just about.
Anyway the en suite really needs updating and the bedroom needs redecorating. Obviously this will all be done on a tiny budget, thank goodness my fella can turn his hand to almost anything.
I'd love a wet room but don't know how feasible expensive this would be. At the moment the sink and toilet are apricot:eek: so need some nice white fittings.
Anyway enough waffle, have a Good Friday all:DStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning,
Orange fairy, my brother comes every couple of years but my sister in law hasn't been back for 11 years:eek:
Happy Saturday all. We have a busy day planned. Hubby didn't get in until 7.30 last night. We normally do our shopping on Friday and as I can't drive just now I have to rely on him. So we shall do it today once the usual Saturday morning clean is done. This is a hangover from when we both worked full time but we like cleaning on a Saturday so it's all clean for the weekend and the following week, weird huh:D
We need to visit dh. Mum and step mum today as well and of course everything stops for Strictly tonight.
I'm also hoping to get to the library as I have nothing to read and I'm lost without a book.
Have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Afternoon all,
A busy Sunday with visits from dd and DGS plus son and gf.
Well another big bump in the road. Ds3 had his phone stolen last night. He is really fed up as are we. So the phone was on contract no insurance. I've blocked it but unless it turns up at the venue he was in on Saturday night looks like its gone. Ds3 will have to save up to replace it and in the meantime will use a £10 payg phone we have for emergencies, oh hum
Dd has asked if she can return home, she is a single mum and has a good job, works really hard to look after herself and her four yr old and never asks us for anything but is finding it impossible to save a deposit for a house whilst keeping a roof over there heads. She wants to come home reduce her outgoings and save like mad for 12 months.
I don't mind at all, we have two empty bedrooms and am happy to help any way we can, just wish I had the deposit to give her. Anyway. She is going to speak to her landlord and see how quickly she can exit her current rental. She will pay us rent just quite a bit less than shed s currently paying.
So Everyone fed and watered and I need a rest, enjoy your SundayStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all,
Well another month navigated bills paid phew! We Increased our payments from beginning of November to SC so a little baby step forward.
We are in the middle of getting our house ready for daughter and grandson. Just moving furniture and bedrooms to suit everyone, luckily we have four bedrooms so it's not a squash.
So no date for my leg op yet, but I'm really trying hard to make some money from home. I have a couple off things looking good on eBay so some extra money towards the automatic car I desperately need as I cant drive our manual.
My sons mobile didn't turn up so he is saving for a new one and has borrowed one for the time being.
Anyway I shall pop back later bye for now xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
