    Morning all,

Thanks for the positive vibes Orangefairy he got the job woop woop:T
It will be grate, a fantastic hourly rate for a 17 yr old plus tips. They have a lot of famous guests and footballers so that should be good.
We have to ring today with his measurements so they can order his uniform.:D he starts at the end of August.
It's not only money for him but it means he won't constantly be asking us for money which should really help.
We've taken a step forward money wise as well. Managed to pay off our mortgage arrears, well just £50 to pay next month which means we can up our DMP payment which means our debt free day will be that much closer, which also means our dream of moving to the country moves closer as well.
I'm off for a blood test and X-ray this morning and have some eBay parcels to post. I'm doing my best to save in my Paypal account, so far so good. As soon as I have a few hundred I shall move it over to our savings account.
Better get a wriggle on, have a good day all J x

    Evening,

A lovely day today with my Dh. I love it when we have a day alone.
Firstly a trip to the Local town to get me some comfortable shoes.
I know that sounds boring but I'm waiting for a knee replacement, possibly two so its really important I have good footwear.
Managed to get two good pairs and 30% discount so even though they were not cheap they last me forever and save money in the long run, and best if all my feet don't hurt quite so much:D
We also had a lovely meal using a voucher so tasted even better:T
Then this afternoon bumped into my daughter so we had a nice coffee and then called to see my son on the way back.
Will phone my son in Australia in the morning.

We have quite a few jobs that need doing in the house but I will wait until the weather changes. Hubby is happy to do them and can turn his hand to everything but he hates being inside when its warm so I shall wait until its colder before I nag:rotfl:

Tomorrow I have the kids and various partners and grandchildren for lunch. I will do a lasagne roasted sweet potato and salad with garlic bread and chocolate cake for pud, all home made of course, won't cost much at all and I love feeding people :)

Well I have a glass of wine waiting for me, hope everyone is enjoying their evening J x

Morning all , Of , DFW and Liza, thanks for your good wishes. Lizamy son was the same, he only managed to get this one because they were impressed when he did a work experience for them. My friend suggested her son found a job by offering to work a week for free as a trial, hope he finds something.

Yesterday was lovely, the food was good and we had good fun in the garden until the heavens opened about 4 Ish.
I planned on a lazy morning but the docs receptionist rang to say could I come in at 9 my bloods were back, gave me a bit of a scare but just need some iron and a few more tests.
Need to get some money into the bank today. Dh has a full days work thank goodness.
I have a couple of dresses to post that I've sold on eBay. I also need to send a large box to my DIL by ship hopefully it won't cost a fortune.
Tea tonight is chicken curry and rice all hm of course and I fancy doing a lemon drizzle for pud as I have a lemon that wants using.
I soo wish I was well enough to go to work but I'm not so I need to do everything I can from home, save we're I can, manage the budget and make extra money in whatever way I can.
I'm quite enjoying the cooler wet weather it's a nice change from the heat. Have a good day all x

    Morning all,

    Hope everyone is doing ok.

A very busy weekend here. Firstly on Friday we went put to our friends house for a meal which was lovely and cost us nothing other than a couple of cheap bottles of wine.
On Saturday we went out for a meal with our son and his girl friend who is lovely. She was celebrating and so picked the restaurant. Definitely not our kind of place, way overpriced and pretentious with people who think they are something special because they have a few pennies talking and shouting as loud as possible.
Footballer thrown out of the bar as we entered:eek: anyway upshot is cost a fortune, well for us and we are both annoyed with ourselves for wasting money that could have been put to much better use elsewhere:mad:
None of our children know our circumstances other than money is tight so didn't want to not go without a good reason. But oh I'm annoyed with myself. Anyway lesson learned and we won't be doing it again!
Back to reality this morning. The good news is the arrears are now paid on the mortgage so I need to ring SC and see if they can up our payments, still not paying loads off but at least it's another £100 a month.
I have 4 more items to list on eBay so shall do that today.
Another dilemma is hubby has a testing machine worth about a £1000 I want to sell it and put it in the emergency fund as our car is on its last legs and this would buy us another one, but he does get the odd job when he needs it and so isn't sure about selling, they are few and far between though. Decisions decisions.
We are busy getting the house sorted at the moment, the lounge needs some plastering and redecorating which we will do ourselves. The plan is to get it valued early next year .
This is also dependant on my sons A level results after his first year which he will get on Thursday. If he needs to repeat we would need to stay in the area for another two years instead of the one we had planned.
Everything feels up in the air just now but its important not to lose sight of the goal which is to be debt free as quickly as possible.
    Onwards and upwards :)

    Afternoon all,

Not posted for a while as not much as happened but I thought I would update my diary.
The worst happened with our youngest and he has had to resit his first year of A levels. Not the end of the world, but just means we will be staying put until 2015. This could turn out to be good as house prices seem to be going in the right direction so it's probably worth waiting.
He is doing well at the hotel and earning good money and tips on top so that's relieved the pressure on us to give him money.
An update on the DMP situation. We have been paying since March and so far have paid £357 back bringing our total under the £34,000 down to £33,985,88 only just  anyway we've managed to increase our payments so should be paying back much more quickly. The money that we were paying towards mortgage arrears has been thrown at the debt now we are up to date.
There should be another £75 available in 6 months so will up it again at that stage.
It is very slow but at least we are paying back and not getting into any more debt. No problems with the creditors, I think they have decided you can't get blood out of a stone.
I'm in to see my consultant on Thursday and should then go on the list for my knee replacement. I'm really hoping its before Christmas so that next year I'm in a position to go out and get a job.
My main worry at the moment is our interest only mortgage. I keep thinking it should be changed to a repayment, but we would have to double out mortgage repayments which we just can't do at the moment. Dh tells me not to worry, what's the point we are selling anyway so no need for a repayment mortgage. I know he's right and this keeps our outgoings down but it doesn't feel secure ifykwim
Anyway onwards and upwards. I'm picking out grandson up later and he wants home made pizzas for tea. He likes tortillas spread with tomato pur!e and cheese and then chooses his own toppings:D
I'm going to try and pop in more regularly as this diary really helps me to keep things straight in my mind.
Weight wise I'm struggling but nothing new there:eek:

    Bye for now
