Hi Miss Kitty,
Of course you can;) your very welcome to subscribe thanks for dropping in. Thanks for the positive thoughts re 5th June, I am very scared but know it needs to be done ASAP.
I'm just back from Yorkshire, beautiful lush green countryside even it was raining, I guess that's why it's so green:)
Well we are full up of Cottage Pie and lemon meringue tart all made by my lovely mum. So a very frugal tea and leftovers brought home for our 16 yr old which he is polishing off whilst we speak.
The other good news is the company rang who are fitting the boiler and would like to come tomorrow afternoon to order the boiler and any parts needed to fit it, then they will do it as soon as the parts come. This is such a relief. There is no way we could have afforded to replace it and I really think one more British winter would have killed it completely.
Although my dh is an electrician and extremely handy, can turn his hand to just about anything, I think keeping it going much longer would have been beyond even his capabilities.
Hope your having a good evening, off to look at free kindle books see if I can find something free and interesting to read.Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hi Debtfrewannabe,
Welcome, it is gorgeous, I feel we may have to settle for a hut in a field though:eek:
I hope you get your dream too.
Well it's pouring here, my gorgeous tulips are bent double.
I'm rushing this morning. I have my market research and have bought some lovely curtains from eBay for a pittance so need to collect. It's absolutely amazing how cheaply you can make your home look good if you are careful.
They will look gorgeous in my country cottage if I ever get there:D
What's everyone up to today. I am due to go to weight watchers tonight but its been a bad week food wise and to be honest I'm thinking I might finish and have a go at home. I don't seem to be much better when I'm weighed.
Plus it's another £20 I can't afford to be honest.
Hope your all having a good day, shall pop back later. jStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Well done on the eBay bargain, it really is a great site when you're being careful, I've got some awesome things from there for pennies.
The weather down here is sunny with big black clouds! Very odd. Nothing overly exciting planned here. I was meant to be going to a friends for a cake and wine evening but I'm ill so that's out of the question (though at least I don't have to feel guilty about not bringing anything flashy) and I have to take DH to the dentist this afternoon for a sedation appointment and then keep the two smallest kids entertained while he's in there. That's gonna be fun when all I want to do is sleep!
Hope your day's more interesting than mine![STRIKE]DFD 22/7/14[/STRIKE]

Sorry your not well Miss Kitty sounds like a tough day, hope it goes ok.
I thought I would write a list of steps we need to take in order to achieve our dream of moving to the country.
1. Pay off the debt
2. Find a way to increase our income that's practical and doable
3. Put the house up for sale as soon as the market begins to rise again, can't move anyway until youngest finishes his a levels next year.
4. This is risky and we are still discussing but possible rent and invest in a project which we can sell on or rent out, we have always fancied property developing and as dh can do most of the work himself it would be a possibility, but scary as don't know how living in rented would suit me, probably only short term but its risky if things go wrong.
Things that won't help include spending most evenings looking at gorgeous property on the Internet and drooling :rotfl:
I would be interested to hear if anyone else has started out with this as just a dream and managed it, when they odds were against them.
I'm not giving up. Doing lots of visualisation and positive thinking at the moment, don't know if it is working but it definitely helps me relax:)Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

I'm back with another list, but its my diary and I can write a list if I want to:p
June is our most expensive month for birthdays so so far I have done the following:
8th DSIL bought pjs and card ad wrapped
13th youngest son is 17 bought pjs toiletries and books, he has already had a ticket to the Leeds festival for £200 which I saved for all year so he is having nothing else, except maybe his favourite brownies with a candle in:D
14th DGS birthday, money in a card
15th DD birthday she is 27 gosh I feel old, already bought perfume, just need a little wrap up, box of chocs from her brother
16th dh birthday and fathers day:eek: dh insists he doesn't want presents but am hoping to take him away just for one night and some us time:o will get lots of nice Father's Day pressies from our four lovely kids
18th best friend and MIL bday. Have bought friend a little manicure set and MIL normally has something for the garden
26th our 28th wedding anniversary probably just a nice day out for a walk if my leg is better by then.
30th DIL bday in Australia, present winging its way to her already.
Phew back to normal just the odd one or two for the rest of the yearStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

My worst month for birthdays is October.......two children and various relatives all have birthdays, nightmare. I no longer buy presents, they get an embroidered card and that's it.
Love the cottage,,,,,,,,
I like to rummage on Ebay as well, I bought the dresser for the dining room and the lady delivered it for me. I am planning on painting it at some point.
I had a pair of curtains which fit the french doors in the dining room, I am going to have to get the ones for the front room made at Dunelm, velvet lined with thermal blackout lining, to keep the heat out/in depending. I have prices them up and they will be £92 so not too bad. Ordering them will have to wait as I have a largish CC bill to pay this month and also one from E Bay from selling my cooker. Will take us very close to going into o/d next month if I am not careful.....eekkkkk.....0 -
wow that is a busy month  My busiest is July. 1st, 4th, 15th, 28th, 29th (x 2 birthdays), 30th and 31st all are family birthdays  However I no longer buy for 5 of them as i just can't afford it! The only ones who get presents now are the kids (my two youngest and my nephew) everyone else gets a card
I'm a big fan of positive visualisation and affirmations :T even if they don't work, like you say they make you feel more positive and able about thingsMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Hi Casarina and DFW,
I need to be stronger and start saying just kids only but so enjoying giving gifts, I do try and make it as reasonable as possible.
I got my curtains they are perfect but I won't put them up until we have painted the front room.
I was going to get white with a hint of blue for the downstairs loo but we have decided if we can get a nice cream we will buy enough for the lounge stairs and landing. It should work out more economical that way. We've been here 8 years and although we decorated throughout initially everything is needing a freshen up, we want to keep on top of it if we are going to sell in the reasonable near future.
The man is just here measuring up for my boiler.
I'm so excited, what a life I lead:rotfl:Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
