Very remiss of me.
I will attend to the oversight this very minute. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Would you drive into the sea if the Satnav told you too.0

Which settings have you got selected? Looking at the desktop version the M6 route is faster but longer so if you have the "quickest route" option set & haven't chosen "avoid tolls" it will send you that way.0

Why are you trying to help him? he is obviously thick, there is about 5 signs saying M6 toll before you actually go on to it.0 -
Set google to avoid toll roads, problem solved..it's probably thrown it up because its always empty and has few police on it so journey times on it 'can be quicker officer'0

Why thank you! From your considered response I am obviously of inferior intelligence to your good self.
I never said I went on the M6 toll, just that my sat nav directed me to it - despite there being a shorter, more direct route which is actually quicker available. My wife's built in sat nav does exactly the same, if you are anywhere near Tamworth it points you to the M6 Toll even if it is the long way round or you do not need to go near it.
I was just questioning if the M6 Toll as a private company has paid sat nav providers to point towards their road, which on certain occasions appears to be the case.
I am also well aware you can 'avoid tolls' but when I reboot my Android 4.1 phone it clears that option, and the alternative routes still point to the M6 toll.
And yes, I was being facetious about phoning Google.
I shall now go away and consider my own stupidity.Edible geranium0 -

The irony of someone unable to use a correct capital letter, and to differentiate between "is" and "are", calling someone else thick. :rotfl:0 -

The best use of a Sat nav is always to use your own eyes aswell as the directions it gives, then you can decide for yourself if it is taking you somewhere you would like to avoid.
Apologies for calling you thick.0 -
