Where to buy in London

Hi Everyone
I've recntly got approved for a mortgage to buy my first property. I'm looking for a 2+ bed in London, preferable with decent transport links/an easy commute to Liverpool street.
My budget is around 350k (much more and would begin to stretch myself with monthly payments). So far I have been looking in Bow but everything there seems to be new(ish) builds with large service charges. Also there seems to be so many flats going up that I see how these could really increase in value (as there will be a large number of te commodity in a small area). What does everyone think about this? Do these new flats keep their value?
Also, can anyone recommend any other areas fo this price range?
Thanks!

Bow is a sh!hole. Have a look at overground train links into Liverpool Street. Walthamstow is mere minutes away and you could afford a freehold there.0

Stratford has a lot to offer ....Westfield ,great transport links .
Stratford village has very nice victorian built houses for around £300,0000 -
Where do you live at the moment?I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Perhaps consider somewhere south of the river with trains to Cannon St or City Thameslink/Farringdon.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Stay away from Stratford, it might have the shopping centre but it will always be a dump.
Like someone else said above, for that money you could look at getting a terraced house in Walthamstow Village. It's becoming ever popular with families and couples in their thirties who can't afford Stoke Newington. The transport links are fantastic too.
But if it was me, I would go for Kensal Rise or Kensal Green and for 350k you could get a good size 2 bed conversion. I've lived near there for the past five years and have noticed all the yummy mummies have moved in! The shops are great - nice pubs, a few delis, independent butcher - and the bus and train links are very handy for getting to Central London. Plus, it is on the cusp of the really plushy areas so it will keep rising in value as more people are priced out.
Good luck on your search!0 -

How rude !0 -
Sorry, didn't mean to offend but that's my opinion. I live in an area which most people living in London would consider a dump but I love it!0

It's true, though. Stratford is a complete dump....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I'd look at Hoxton / SHoreditch. Interesting places to live, and you could cycle to Liverpool Street, so no commuting costs. You could get 2 bed places there for under £350k, although I'd avoid ex LA flats because of hte risk of major works....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
