Isn't that a bit oxymoronic? If you ask for something, is it still a donation? Perhaps it should be a 'donation is suggested'....?

Yes. I don't have any connection to them, so don't shjot the messenger, but have had to borrow stuff a fair bit.

couldn't a friend or neighbour drive her to school? Or can you contact any school staff today and see if they can suggest anything?

I wouldn't assume you will get crutches at A&E. My son had a post viral condition where he couldn't walk and they wouldn't give him any. said they were for broken legs only.

If you are absent for the tests, you are automatically awarded a level 3. Average is level 4 so absence does end up having consequences.

At my school, we go out and collect kids in situations like this. Worth asking?

Thanks for all the replies, im sticking with the paracetamol/ibruprofen and getting her to keep it up as much as possible. I've actually found a friend of hers who had crutches a few weeks ago so im going to get them today, hopefully they'll fit, dd is quite small lol.
I'll definatly ask at the school for help in transport as I get the feeling they care a lot about the sats and will certainly want her in this week so may be even more helpful :)
I think it'll be taxi for monday morning then see how it goes while shes actually at school, luckily im only working from wednesday so can always collect her early if needs be :)
:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly :D

AFAIK it's not possible for SATs papers to be taken at home.

    Yes, it is.

A teacher brings the papers at the same day and time as the rest of the children are taking the tests and waits while the child does the papers. I know a child who did exactly this.

They normally request a deposit which is returned when the items are returned. We borrowed a wheelchair for my Dad with a deposit of £25 for 4 weeks, at the end we 'donated' the deposit.

The teachers will go out of their way to make sure your dd is able to sit her exams. I broke my right wrist ( right handed) the day before my yr 9 sats exams and I ended up having to sit in a separate room with a teacher writing all my papers for me. I'm sure I got some extra time too because of how much longer it actually takes. I dunno if things have changed a bit now as that was over 15 years ago now lol x

    Hi,
I've taught y6 for a number of years!! See how she is on Monday!! Then if there are problems, ring schoo ASAP.... Us teachers are kindly souls and will do everything in our power to make life easy!! I have got pupils before, had one sit in a room on his own cos he panicked, had one sat on her own with the sick bowl etc etc.... School will have strategies in place - they just don't advertise them else all the little toads will jump on the bandwagon!!!!

Good luck to your DD and all her friends....... And to you too!!!!! It'll all be over by Friday!!!!!!!
