Why can't you get it unlocked? I asked recently about unlocking son's phone.They have told me it'll cost £20 to unlock if we want to do that in contract period. Not a particularly high fee in my estimation (its free to get it unlocked at contract end).
In your shoes I'd ring them and ask again.

the store can link them for youDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
