so apart from making the poster feel good about themselves what is the point of the thanks button?
I thank people who I agree with, people who give good advice, people who make me laugh....basically anyones post which makes me smile and/or nod my head

catewitheres, i didn't mean it in a negative way, i was just wondering whether there was another point to it, for example the site owner looking at who has the most thanks or a competition or something like that! it's not a bad thing i was just curious!nothing to see here, move along...0

I like thanking people and it's nice to get thanks!!! It's always appreciated by me, it a nice thing. I just found it really odd, that if someone asked for it, it had the opposite effect on me and i was far less likely to thank them at all!!!
