If you cannot find out from the chap whether inhibitor was added, drain the system down completely (from the main drain valve), add the appropriate amount of inhibitor for your system based on the number of radiators and then fill the system again with water from the filling loop.
No - its all gone pearshaped after someone the OP paid to do a job on his system did so. Its the contractors responsbility to sort this out not the OP. Stop enabling the contractor (makeee learnee though he might be) to do shoddy work and avoid his responsibilities.
Testing the water is a good idea
    Thanks.

Now the bottoms of the upstairs rads (after bleeding air out) have gone cold. It's never ending.
Did you repressurise? Never mind. Leave it until he gets there today. If he has to get someone in thats more knowledgeable to help him out then that's what he should do. It's your job to insist he leaves you with a working system - thats all. He'll never learn at this rate.

The inhibiter was put in but when the downstairs rad was bled to put it in it was as clean as drinking water. The muck seems to be upstairs. At least it isn't coming down into the boiler.

What a joke this makes of forums!!!!!

An EXPERT on cooling towers makes a post regarding domestic household radiators !!!!!!!!!

The OP has a simple problem of bleeding the radiators.

Time for Alpha males, not to post, when no info given. It's boring, and not needed. "You said this, no you said this, no yousaid this....ya de ya de ya!!!!"

    BORING!

THE OP NEEDS HIS RADS BLEEDING, MOST OF THE PEOPLE POSTING ARE BLEEDING USELESS, TO THE POINT OF 'I MANAGE A CHIMNEY", BELIEVE ME..never heard such nonsuchwith in my life!

    :T:T:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Great assistance to the OP this is PRAT"boy", you have answered all his problems I'm sure:rotfl:

The "Expert" opinion and the reference to "cooling towers" was in response to a hint of "GASSING"(which you seem to be an expert in:p)
and the response to a possibility of a problem with water quality in the system, and "inhibitors" causing the problems, AND more pertinently to justify that due to differing opinion that as an "EXPERT" in water quality, from "cooling towers to domestic systems" both in the field and MANAGEMENT of a "TECHNICAL DISCIPLINE", and this is still a pertinent point, that "GASSING" is not caused by "inhibitors":p

:(It would appear there is still a problem with the OP's system, AND a possibility of "SLUDGE" in the system somewhere, even though the "GAS" has been released, clearly it is NOT JUST a problem of "THE OP NEEDS HIS RADS BLEEDING":whistle::wall:SO maybe you should slither back into your sewer until you have something constructive or "EXPERT" to deliver yourself:kisses:

And so back to the "EXPERT" discussions and the OP's problem:huh:

I know OP you have bled the system, and you have also POSITIVELY found hydrogen gas from what you say, and also that you MAY still have a blockage in the system as the rads arent working correctly, and inhibitor has been added.
1/ There is still a possibility that "gassing" will reoccur if there is sludge or magnatite still in the system somewhere.
2/ It is unusual for sludge to remain at the higher levels of the system only.
3/ It is unlikely, from what you have said that the TRV's are a problem, or the install, or inhibitor.
4/ As you have had the water in the system changed it is now unlikely that an analysis of the water will help currently.

I would be of the opinion, and an opinion is the only thing that can be given remotely and based on what is stated, before any other "PRAT has a comment to make, that you have a concentration of magnatite build up somewhere on the upper circuit causing a blockage:(
You "may" be able to locate this by running a magnet along the pipework and where it sticks should indicate a possible blockage or restriction, which is most likely to be at a bend or tee joint;)

May I also suggest OP, that, as you "like" the Pratboys comments, you should either respect that there are differing opinions on many subject, as there are many differing posibilities to finding a solution, and these are only based on what is posted by someone usually inexpert on the subject matter, but in need of help by people more expert "WHO DO THEIR BEST", or deal with your issues entirely on your own with your tradesman;)

I wonder if admin consider abusing a User at a personal level to be one of their T&C ?

No, they do. I just looked. Why do it?

Very fancy writing that equates to nothing, doesn't help the OP, and is aimed at me, regardless of helping the OP. Well Done.

:TSomething you should consider when you only abuse others and offer no solution or technical based opinion;)

:pIts called defending the position and opinion of others who have a technical knowledge, although opinions and depth may not always be agreed:naughty::shhh:

:wall:If the OP doesnt want to accept the advise, from whoever or whatever that is, that is their choice, NOT YOURS, as it is NOT "nothing" as there is sound advise given based on the filterred information given by the OP, AND opinion without direct hands on access can only EVER be opinion based on what has been stated at any given time:doh:
:rotfl:As for YOU, I suggest people living in glass houses shouldnt throw the 1st stones, PARTICULARLY as your comment was not only directed at me, PERSONALLY, but also every other technician, though not all are, that gives an opinion TO HELP people here, your comments HELPED NO ONE OR ANY PROBLEM other than to stick your nose in for whatever spurious reason that must eminate from your tail, as your pseudonymn would suggest, it doesnt exactly suggest in anyway that you are anything other than what you call yourself:p;):naughty:

Are you replying to the OP; or slagging off a poster, that gives their opinion? And still nake spurious comments to slag off the poster to boot! Nice!

OP, You sound inexperienced, buying wrong sized tools and having damaged bleed keys. Leave well alone.

:rotfl:Well now, of course you wudnt dream of slagging off a poster in a condescending manner now would you:rotfl:

The OP has a choice as to what they consider good advice, or what they want to ignore, and no one here can influence that, BUT, also no one here HAS to post when good advice is dismissed out of hand, particularly as it is based usually on spurious details of the problem;)

On the other hand, there are some that seem to TROLL around, everywhere, making spurious and condescending comments on Posters issues and responders advice alike, with absolutely NO sound technical advice offered, if you are bored theres always corrie:p
