Hi i just couldnt keep quiet . I moderate Norwich DDT. we are only just starting and it will take time to build up members but i,m certain that when people see the advantages they will use the sevices that DDT has available. Its for the whole community you can find local sevices and information local offers have some fun and also talk to people. if you don't like the way it is run in your area talk to the moderator and don't be afraid of offering ideas .
DDT should benefit the whole community from kids to O.A.P so please join in . As for freecycle were all on the same side. any rubbish even one item thats kept out of land fill is brilliant . :T0 -
how scathing some of you are. so mse has been mentioned on the don't dump that site, which has encoraged new members to this site and you jump all over them and accuse them of being the same person.
1) where is you proof
2) how likely is that? its not as if its a business or something is it?
3) what happened to be nice to all moneysavers.
no wonder some poeple only post a couple of times and aren't seenagain when people reply to them like that,0 -
i am a member of the newport DDT and i strongly recommend it to anyone. some areas may be slower than others, newport has only just started but the list of members is growing all the time!
the whole idea is to put something you would other wise throw out, a good home. its good to have a choice of methods to use.
if you dont mind 175 emails a day, then freecycles perfect, but if, like me you prefer the quieter approach to it all, then DDT is a good alternative.
its basically just a matter of personal preference, with the ultimate goal being the same for both.
there is also another site, which is very new, with, again the same goal.
the site is called efreeko and people have the option of posting the item, if the cost of postage is covered by the recipient.
again, all these sites have the same goal in the end and, surely isn't worth bickering over. its the environment we are all trying to help isnt it? which ever method we choose.:j :T :j :T :j :T :j :T :j
its a funny old world!!

I quite agree with you.
I've been receiving mse e-mails for over a year now and have never taken part in any discussions before but I've seen a lot of disrespect for DDT members, implying that one person has several alter egos, and I feel I must repond to this. I, too, am a DDT member and have met two of the members in question. Which shoots THAT theory right out of the water!
Personally I couldn't care less what recycling/freecycling forum people use, as long as we keep our good usable items out of landfill what does it matter?0 -

There are a few remarkably rude people here. Just spoilt my opinion of this site.0

It's not strange at all really, if they know each other through 'Don't Dump That' it's makes sense that they would communicate and mention that a message has been posted on here.
I have been a fairly quiet member on here for some time, and have saved a fortune through, but have been apalled by the lack of respect and general nastiness shown more and more frequently. What is the point???
I for one am very glad that you posted on here, as I would not have know about this site otherwise. My local forum seems quite quiet but I shall keep an eye on it as I'm sure it will grow with time. I am new to freecycle aswell and will carry on using both for now until I find which one I prefer.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -

Oh I know - in that case **** ***
why is it that a friendly recommendation from a MEMBER of another site instils such hatred in people?
i thought that this was a place for people to share their experiences, seek advice and to advise when possible!!!!!!!!
i have one identity on line and i use it here and on my local DDT!!
i am also a member of efreeko, another such site! so i AM not merely advertising DDT, i am simply saying try them for yourself and see!!!
did you not have to register and log in to THIS site in order to participate? or was that just me?:j :T :j :T :j :T :j :T :j
