I am heartbroken by the lies, this isn't the first time, she just doesn't see the ramifications of lying and blaming someone else, or doesn't care.

    Am I overreacting!

    Sorry for long post.

No Flo you're not overreacting - she asked if she could do something, you said no so she lied in order to get her own way.

Sounds like me as a teenager :shhh:
I was very much like that - makes me cringe when I think back to what a little madam I was :o

I think I've turned out ok though

    Yes and no

One of the funniest times was when we had only been in the house a few months so everywhere had been painted etc.
Friend was over anyway I goes upstairs and half way up written in pencil on the wall his brothers name stinks.
Totally denied it of course it was not him and why does he always get the blame.
Went through all the excuses it was his brother trying to drop him in it etc could have been anyone but the best was he blamed the people before us, it was probably them :rotfl: and how did I know it wasn't them.
Friend still cracks up when ever she mentions it :rotfl:

    Nice try :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

She does have independence, but when she is told explicity no as I had things to do and then lies through her teeth to get her own way and blames other people - in a way that could get them into trouble then she has to face the consequences. She is also not a teenager yet, only 12.

I was a teenager in the 80s in London and from about 14/15 went out and about with friends, during the day, all over London. But my mum knew who I was with and had agreed beforehand - big difference.

FloFlo sorry you are having a difficult time. My dd is 12 and is continually pushing the boundaries. I caught her twice in the last week signing my name on documents for school. Next time I will march her into the school office myself and she knows I will do it.:D Try and even all this out with the positive aspects of her behaviour and see if there is anything that is worthwhile removing as a punishment if needed. What would get through to her if you took it away?

Good morning :) Been out enjoying the sun.....scared to come in in case it disappears :rotfl::rotfl: It's a definate garden day. Ive got tons to do.

Aww flo flo you're not over reacting. And you've every right to be upset. I too have a 13 year old madam who knows everything and has more attitude than I can handle at times. And no one likes being lied to.

I was a teenage nightmare and told lots of lies to my parents. I wasn't allowed to see my boyfriend ( OH ) so I used to tell copious amounts of lies to get round it. I wasn't getting at my parents. The lies were a means to do what I wanted to do, and what they didnt want me to be doing :o I also had to endure my fair share of groundings and other punishments when I was caught out, which was alot!

Sorry had a little giggle, I used to do this when I was at school, my mums signature was so easy to forge, always used to do them for pe or sick notes, then bunk off for school, have warned my son if he ever does this he will be in big trouble.

FloFlo, you are not overreacting at all, she is just pushing the boundaries, to see how far you will go, all children try it, you said no and she should understand that, by they think they know best. She will learn and understand soon.

DD kicking off again, asked the day before yesterday about catching a different bus home from school with girls from old school and meeting me from work, I said no straight home its end of term I will be late dad is early finish and will be home. Get a text then as I am dismissing my class to say she has missed the bus and is stuck at school, said teacher kept whole class late for talking. I start to make arrangements to leave quickly to pick her up, am fuming about teacher keeping them behind and ready to create hell. Then get a message from my school office to say she has rang to say its ok she managed to get the bus to meet me at work (what a coincidence). As soon as I heard this I knew it was lies, just thanked God I hadn't phoned the school and complained. When she arrived at work I told her I had phoned the school and knew she was lying, so she had to admit that and changed it to the bus driver went early so she had to get the other bus - more lies. I tried to talk to her about being honest and not getting other people into serious trouble by lying to cover our mistakes. I gave her several chances to tell the truth - that she had just got on the other bus with friends who live that way but no, would not admit it. Reinforced the grounding this morning, made sure she was aware it was because of the lying, tried again to explain to her how serious saying things that aren't true about the teacher and bus driver could be. Finally she told the truth - none of it was true, she wanted to go on that bus even though she had been told no and lied to me.

I am heartbroken by the lies, this isn't the first time, she just doesn't see the ramifications of lying and blaming someone else, or doesn't care.

    Am I overreacting!

    Sorry for long post.

Sorry you are having problems FloFlo. Unfortunately fibbing is one of the phases teens go through. They do grow out of it eventually. They say its a sign of intelligence lol.

morning all. Wow, the sun is out. Make the most of it, it's probably going to chuck it down this afternoon! It normally does.

May i just ask about the £50 tosco gift card promotion. If i were to buy 4 £50 gift cards and did them all separately, would i get 4 x 150 points? Anyone know?

    Have a charming day all.

Ps. Don't forget, if you spend more than £15 at boots, it's 10 points per pound, so technically a 10 per cent discount. Perfect time to buy if you have presents etc you may need in the near future.
    not tesco gc.
if you're a clubcard customer you'll earn 150 clubcard points for every £50 spent in a
single transaction on branded gift cards.***
