If you mean 2.5 hours to get there and back ie 1.25 each way, I think you could do 2 trips - Friday and Monday?

    Sorry.

Yep I was thinking 2 trips is the reasonable minimum, having slept on it.

Maybe MIL will be up for travelling by public transport by (say) 29/5 - which would be nearly 2 weeks after the [minor] stroke. After a person has a little stroke, should they be active or take complete rest? Does anybody know?

Best to ask their doctor to be sure.

How is your wife? I found it very very hard when my mum was ill last year. I hope she is coping and I hope your MIL is over the worst of the stroke.

Just thinking about wombles and why smaller receipts yield a greater chance of APG.
Those people who have to be really careful with their money will go for the smart price and value brands which usually match on price. These are perhaps the elderly, students and low income families. The people who use cash only...... Those who maybe self scan to avoid the embarrassment of putting through a shop they cannot afford. Ironically, those people who would welcome a 50p APG. To compound the issue these are some of the very people who do not have access to computers for a variety of reasons. The elderly who may not be computer savvy or those who cannot afford the Internet or even enough money for the meter.

Then we have those at the other end of the spectrum who are more affluent, shop without a list, buy a lot of expensive branded goods and multibuys and are happy to see their receipt blow away as they are not too bothered about checking it against their credit card statement. Where alcohol is purchased, an APG is often thrown up.

And there is us lot....oh where do I start:)

Part of this made me feel a tad :o. TM i have been there more than once before SS in my stores putting stuff on conveyor in order to scan then asking for my shopping to be added up at a certain point before i added more. Going without for me and DS if i couldn't afford it :o But that was many moons ago. And i feel sorry for folk still in the same boat and struggling.

Thank goodness i found the Elite :T:T:T:T
