I doubled mine up and brought my little monkey a trampoline for his birthday next month as well as getting the trampoline accessory kit, 4 seat cushion pads, a new enamel roaster and a jug.
£183.00 worth has cost me the grand total of £6.98 and that includes delivery. :T:T
I am made up. Best clubcard quarter ever!! :j:j (mostly thanks to TCB)
Well, since you asked...
I bought garden furniture a couple weeks ago with some helping hands and a £65 giftcard from joining sky. A few days later the furniture went on sale so i returned it (SA refunded full price even thiugh i used HHs), bought it again at the reduced price using more helping hands and pocketed the difference to a giftcard.
i thought that was the end of it but now the double up is on for garden furniture and my set is still at reduced price so i'm going to return it again for refund to gift card and buy again using exchange vouchers. Just for good measure i'll use a £3 off £30 mailing voucher :money:
And to top it off my mum likes the set so much she wants me to buy her one too. I'll double up my vouchers to buy it and she'll reimburse me in cash
I doubt i'll be making such a large purchase again any time soon so i think i'll use a double points coupon too

Hi all,
Well the results are in.....
Scan showed no active cancer
However, a large tumour that they have renamed 'scar tissue' remains. If it stays there at that size there is a fair chance of the Hodgkins relapsing
The only way to reduce the tumour now is with radiotherapy which will significantly increase my risk of breast cancer
There was a big meeting this morning discussing my case and my consultant and the 'experts' couldn't agree on the best course of action, so they have left it up to me to decide  They are arranging an appointment for me to discuss pros/cons and statistics to help with my choice.
I should really be concentrating on the fact that the cancer has gone but am struggling to celebrate at the moment. Such a big
Was really hoping to be put it all behind us but it seems i'm not at the finish line yet. Must plod on though.
Thanks for all of your support :A
Logie, the one definite thing you have posted above is that the scan has shown no active cancer. Everything else is merely things that may happen at some future point in the future.
I appreciate that is a simplistic view of the news you've received, but nevertheless it's true. None of us here on the forum knows what the future holds for us, be it good and bad. You and we were all hoping so much that it would be unmitigated good news, but sometimes life's a bit more complicated than that and it takes a bit longer to achieve a good resolution.
If I may I will tell you a little story about my family. This weekend we are celebrating a very special though somewhat odd anniversary. It will be 5 years ago to the day that we very nearly lost our daughter.
Briefly, over the space of two days her right hand stopped working completely, and for months she had medical appointments and physio in this country, but nothing worked. She was screaming with agony every evening with the pain. In despair we took her abroad privately for the very best medical treatment ( think foreign Harley Street). Even though it was cheaper than in this country, we could ill afford it at the time, but we knew we had to do something before her disability became permanent. DH and I were taking it in turns to go out there with her for a week at a time, and she was having painkilling injections in her neck and special intensive physio in a top physio centre purely for the hand. We were so pleased, she was finally making progress. The afternoon we were walking round the Zoo and she told us she finally had no pain for the first time in months, we all cried. We were so happy she was recovering.
One day when my husband was out there with her the injection in the neck hit the wrong spot, she nearly died and had to be resuscitated. When she came round, she had almost complete memory loss. She couldn't remember her own parents, the only way she accepted she was there with her father was because he spoke the best English. I had absolutely no idea what my husband was bringing home to me at midnight the following Friday night. She had completely forgotten us, her school and her friends. She had to completely relearn to love us and that she could trust us. As her parents it was very difficult, and it must have been utterly appalling and so frightening for her.
For a long time she was very fragile, she had adverse responses to drugs she had to take so she had very bad hallucinations, and the whole thing was a total nightmare. I still struggle to come to terms with it. The funny thing was from that day forwards, she had no more pain in her hand - she'd completely forgotten it. Gradually over weeks and months the memory came back, and although she still has gaps in her memory, basically most of it has come back now.
I'm sorry to be long winded, but my point is this - fast forward 5 years and she is studying hard at something she loves, she is brave and funny and far more mature than most of her peers because as she puts it, she knows what real problems are.
If you had asked me if I would have wanted us to go through all that to make her hand work again and stop her awful pain, no of course I wouldn't have. The fact is, it turns out that's the journey we had to go through to get to the place we are at today. It was totally bizarre and utterly terrifying at times, but that was the route she took back to health.
I suppose what I'm trying to say, very badly, is that there are many routes to recovery. You might not be there yet, but you still got some good news today in and amongst there.
Drink your champagne my darling, draw breath and then deal with the next stage starting tomorrow. You deserve to celebrate tonight. xxxxHope is not a strategy.0 -
Afternoon paw sniffers
Just spent an enjoyable afternoon in Harrogate.Despite the rain. No signs of Morgy:)
Actually the rain eased off about 2 and I enjoyed a lovely walk around the shops while DH picked up his new bike.
I saw a belt in the window of one shop priced at £185:eek:
Maybe the recession has by-passed Harrogate:)
I ended up getting a designer top in a charity shop for £2.99 and enjoyed a very un MSE cuppa in Weetons.
Now back to business,. I'm assuming my local T will be out of rice pud. Anyone tried an A shop and did it work?To do is to be. Rousseau

Logie, you took cancer on and stuck two fingers up to it! You took it on so bravely and courageously, and are an inspiration to everyone.
And you did this with two young children too. I am
for you.
Yes you have some tough choices to make, but I am sure that whatever you decide, you will do so with the same bravery and courage that you have shown so far.
And we are with you every step of the way. Good and bad
