Dads hospital bag... What to add?

Or you could be like me, when we went in with dd2, they told oh to stay as they thought things would happen quickly, that was at 9:00pm, he slept on 4 chairs (different heights) whilst I slept in a bed. The next morning we got up, I was given breakfast, we went to the cafeteria for his breakfast, we walked around the grounds, and walked, and walked....I was given lunch, we went to the cafeteria for his lunch, we did some more walking around....by this time my waters had been broken for too long so they hooked me up to the antibiotics & gave me something to speed it up (I had been almost fully dilated for half the time, but with no pain and the midwives had kept coming to talk to me when we were back on the ward as I was a bit unusual!)
So you can either take loads and not use it or not take a lot and be desperate for things to do....I know which I would rather.
Also, we ended up staying in for 3 days with dd1, so oh had to hunt for extra stuff. When I had dd2 we took a spare bag for the car with extra nightshirts, clothes etc for me, nappies, baby grows etc for dd....as we ended up staying in with her for two nights this came in very useful.
Thats what i meant by not making plans
I was in for 5 weeks after my daughter was born premature, husband went back to work after a couple of days and took time off when we came home. I think most blokes tend to grab the opportunity to have a wander when labour goes on for a long time. With my son, my husband took himself off to McDonalds for coffee and breakfast ! It was another 9 hours before baby made an appearance ! He was there for the important bit

Wow!! Loads of ideas
thank you!
I think I will include more of the fun/goodies than one snickers, new boxers/socks and a couple of magazines. Also a phone charger, some change, important numbers list, new toothbrush etc. he would probably get these things anyway but he will soon have to remember his own! So this will be useful stuff

And there I was thinking you meant could be quick so don't bother with too much
. Shows how you can misunderstand what someone says. 0 -
I've actually bought dh one of the Nooks that are reduced to £30 at the mo thinking it will be great for when I'm in labour (especially as he tends to love books that are big and heavy!). Going to give it as a present for Fathers Day from our girls.Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0
