Shopping Pet Hates

I hardly ever go to the supermarket at the weekend but popped in to M&S for some milk.
I had no idea that people were so much worse on a weekend! Two old ladies blocked an entire aisle, separately standing with trolleys length on staring at the shelves trying to decide. For ages - I went away and came back and they were still there.
And a couple standing back to back looking at shelves on opposite sides of the aisle, blocking it completely.
I expected M&S to be better than Tesco!
Next time I run out of milk on a weekend, I'll do without till Monday...Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Have to agree with "peachyprice" on the pensioners shopping at peak times, especially during weekday lunch times. OAPs and unemployed should be banned from shops, banks & post offices between noon and 2pm.
Only other thing that bothers me (a bit) is people seeing you load your car when car park is busy and assuming you're leaving so wait in their car. When this happens, I load car then lock it and walk off.0 -

For me (I worked for Threshers for years) it was the level of involvement of the child rather than their age, for example if they picked up or carried anything alcoholic I was on my guard, as the situation could be viewed as the child choosing 'their' drinks. If they were choosing or carrying booze I would ID them or ask their parent to "confirm that they were over 18". (I will not allow my children to pick my or OH's drinks off the shelf because of this; I think it puts the SA in a potentially awkward position.) If you have a customer's child carrying a bottle of wine you probably view them differently to how you view a customer with wine who also has a child. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -

Um, asking a member of staff where something is if you can't find it is not unreasonable in any way.
Maybe you need a new job...0 -
I'm surprised no one has mentioned my pet hate - self service tills randomly calling for assistance. "unexpected item . . ." etc
That's on top of the reduction in jobs they cause.. . .I did not speak out
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me..

And no I don't need a new job thankyou. Just a few respectful customers.0 -

I wouldn't expect a member of staff to know where every single item in the very large supermarkets is. I would hope that they can at least send me in the right direction (and hopefully the right aisle!), but there must be hundreds of thousands of different products.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

I don't expect them to know everything either, but they are the right people to ask! Its not exactly worthy of 'hate' is it?0 -

i was in aldi today and the girl on the checkout was talking with the person in front of me and was saying how they have a target of how many items they're supposed to scan through in an hour0 -
the one that really bugs me when i'm at work is when i ask a customer if they need a bag and they reply with "yes if you have one"
i wouldnt ask you if i didnt have any
i'm sometimes tempted to want to reply with "i have one but you cant have it" :rotfl::rotfl:0
