Each to their own, but it would be far from original these days, I'm more shocked when I go out and I don't see atleast a dozen people with pink/green/blue hair.

I don't react, I live in London and have seen it all.

I think it looks good if done properly and the roots are kept in check.

This is a very interesting thread for me. I have always admired people who have the confidence to be completely themselves, in regards to their appearance and the way they dress. I have also wondered what professions they are in that dont restrict their individuality.

As a student years ago my hairstyles changed from long to short and were a whole myriad of different colours over those years. I didn't do it to be outrageous or to gain any reactions. I just wished to express myself in my own way and made the most of enjoying that limited time of real freedom.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
  • Personally, I would wait until I had started in the job. Then once they had got to know you and you have passed your probabation I would then go wild on the hair front

I love bright hair when it's well done and well maintained.

Very true. I once saw a girl with navy blue hair and it looked lovely, especially because her hair was so beautifully cut and shiny. I think the problem with mad hair colours is that the hair can damaged or faded or the person's complexion cannot take the colour. I do think a lot of white people need to wear make-up to stop the colour draining them. I had some mad hair colours in my teens, but eventually had to conclude that my complexion just could not handle it.

A lot of it also has to do with your image/style/confidence. Some people look amazing with mad hair and others look like they are trying to be teenagers again (in a bad way).

Oh dear, time for my age to show! :o
In 1979 my DH's hair was ..... bright green! :p
So unusual hair colour is nothing new and ( in MY opinion ) - whilst maybe visually striking - far preferable to "pogoing" and spitting! :rotfl:
Hey, it's what YOU feel comfortable with.
Like .... well, tattoos, piercings, - should I go on? :T
  • I've often wondered if Sainsbury's give their girls a hair dye allowance - so many of them have their hair coloured the same as their fleeces - burgundy(ish):p

I'm generally red or purple. I'm very jealous of those who can go reallyreallyreallyreally bright though, my natural colour is much too dark for it :(

Sadly that is just the result of cheap home dye kits. You are either going to turn out burgundy or bright orange regardless of what it says on the box. :o

Also for the brave out there try henna 24 hours before dying the results are very unpredictable, as a student I did this with a friend as we couldn't afford the hairdressers fees. She ended up electric pink, and I was dayglo orange! :rotfl:
