Unnatural hair colours?

I'm starting a new job soon and as it will be based in a laboratory where I will have to wear a hairnet and cap I have decided to add some brighter colours to my blonde hair again as now I am out of retail for good I don't have to worry about 'offending' anyone with my appearance.
This is something I've really missed as I used to have very bright purple hair with pink and turquoise tips, something which used to spark pretty intense reactions not only in my friends and family but in complete strangers too. I've had everything from delighted little old ladies in the supermarket asking in wonder if they can touch my hair to see if it was real, to a little girl who asked me if I was a mermaid, to a complete stranger who told me it was absurd, ugly and childish.
So, what's your thoughts about people with bright unnaturally coloured hair? How do you react when you meet someone with blue/pink/green/purple hair? Is there a particular stereotype attached with such people?

Personally I really like it - makes me smile to see cheerful, colourful hair! Though saying that, sadly not sure I could carry it off myself!0

Got lots of abuse, but lot's of people loved it aswell, i do miss it

I love brightly coloured hair! I've never dyed mine, but am toying with going pink ATM
Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A
Never regret something that once made you smile :A0 -
I like it. I'd have done exactly the same if pink and purple dye had been around when I was younger, the best I managed was to henna my hair till it was nearly luminescent.Val.0

I saw a girl with green hair the other day, Ive always fancied having pink or purple streaks but Im not very dark haired and Ive always thought colours like pink and purple look really good on people with black hair. Mine is just highlighted with a couple of different shades of blonde in it.0

I love having bright red in my hair, I work in an office and don't get any negative comments about it - my boss once said 'you need more red', on the other hand my nan gave me some money once and said get rid of the red before I went to an interview lol!0

Presently I have pinky lilac hair with dark purple ends.
I get people stopping me all the time to compliment me. No one has ever been nasty (except a co worker but she doesn't count because she never had a nice thing to say about anyone or any thing)Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -
I love bright hair when it's well done and well maintained.
Nasty, cheaply done and faded? Not so much.
I saw a girl the other day with amazing pink hair! The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I love bright coloured hair! I think it only looks great when all one colour though (and not faded!), I really don't like streaks or partially tinted hair, I think it tends to look unkempt/chavvy.0
