Locked phones are less of an issue with Android. Some Android phones are relatively easy for the user to unlock, while most of the others cost only a fiver on ebay to unlock.0 -

Some iPhones are also very easy to unlock (at the moment Vodafone and O2 handsets can be unlocked by simply plugging into iTunes after paying for the unlock).
It's unfortunate that Orange and T-Mobile have become so obtuse about unlocking, but that applies to many handsets, not just iPhones, try and get an S4 or One unlocked.
Android might have some advantages, but to try and pretend the entire Android ecosystem is superior because Orange are a**es about unlocking iPhones is hardly a logical conclusion.====0
