do virgin media have 12 month contracts ?

Options
currently paying 60 pounds + for sky the similar package with virgin is 32 pounds i phoned virgin media they told me about the collections and the offers that are on at the moment. They did say these were on an 18 month contract. I told CS i didn't like the 18 month contract term and she said they do 12 month contract but i wouldn't get any discount or offers which i'm fine with.

Can new customers get 12 month contracts ? i can't see anywhere on the virgin website the mention of these contracts.

    You've already been told by someone at Virgin that they do, but you won't be able to take advantage of any discounts or offers.

    I'm not sure why you are asking for confirmation on the internet?

    Simply ask Virgin for written confirmation of the contract length before you agree to it....

    I've read posts on here and others where virgin media cs promise you anything to get you to sign up and don't follow through. Do you believe everything a companies cs say ? especially when nothing on the virgin website mentions 12 month contracts. Thanks for your contribution and ill make sure I get written confirmation. The cs wanted to install within 5 day timeframe earliest was Tuesday but I doubt I would get anything in the post from them before that date.
  • My understanding is only existing customers can get 12 month contracts

    If you don't trust what they say, delay installation until you've received the written confirmation.

    To be honest, if I mistrusted a company in the manner that you obviously do I'd be loathe to sign up with them at all.

    lol what's the use of forums like this if its not for advice or confirmation ? Thanks for your contribution again I've taken your advice onboard. It's not a matter of distrusting them or not as I've said read some of the posts regarding either sky or virgin and you have people suggesting they give different answers on contracts. thanks again for your contribution.

    If you've already been told by Virgin direct that a twelve month contract is available to you then there really is no point asking for "confirmation" on forums such as this. On internet forums you will always get conflicting views because anyone can post.
    As I said all along, the only way to be absolutely certain that you have a 12 month contract is to request Virgin confirm this in writing before you agree to it. Is this not advice?

    And if you read my comments above I thanked you for the advice ? I'm not sure why your replying to what you consider is an irrelevant post ? Again for the third time thanks for your contribution

    Please do post how you get on with this;
    others will be able to see if what Virgin promise is then reneged upon as you suspect.;)

    I will do just that ! its much cheaper than my current deal with sky so it's worth considering. I'll wait for confirmation of the 12 month contract as per your instruction money ineptitude.

    Don't forget you can also use this as a bargaining tool to haggle with Sky.
