2011 5 door 1.4 zetect £7131. Why is the one your looking at worth nearly £2000 more?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks all.
I had looked around and £8,200 - £9,999 seemed to be a 'going rate'.
Motorguy - That is an amazing price, no wonder its reserved! I'd of had my hands on that straight away!
Forgotmyname - That cars a bit too high mileage. I'm looking for something under 25,000.
I've found car with 800 miles, 62 plate, and automatic for £9999 (1K more) so now thinking that his price of £8995 really is over priced and to leave it. If he wants to negotiate then he can call me!0 -
Call the garage and speak to the Sales Manager and tell him how you'd like the deal to go before you go elsewhere. Remind them that your not looking for the going rate deal but an excellent deal. If they won't budge then walk away. There's plenty of over priced cars everywhere.
I know you say you don't want anything with over 25k miles but what would be the difference to you, between a 25k and 35k mile car - apart from 10k miles of course and a been cheaper.0 -
I think even my £7,700 was generous now I've seen the same car, less miles, at £8000! That would mean trading my car in at £300. I'd do it, but now I'm less keen to increase my offer to them to £8,000.
I've also e-mailed the car dealer who has the same car with less miles for £7995 to see what 'Reserved' means - i.e. has it been purchased or is it just being held for a duration (until they view it perhaps?!). I know its a far shot, but worth a try.
Diesel, I'm just planning to get this for longer-term. I commute everyday so rack up 50 miles a day and it all adds up. A car at 40,000 miles would be at 50,000 within a year and I would like to try and keep with never having a car over 70,000 as I think they become problematic then (perhaps just my personal experience!).0 -
5DR, Magenta colour.
The one I've found with 3,000 less miles at £200 less is black. I'd go for black if I would save a bit of money, but prefer the Magenta.
sounds a bit pathetic and will be little help to your purchase, but i will never ever buy another black car...
I've had red and blue and various shades of grey, recently bought a 58 plate black car. somone keyed it and it stands out from a mile away (will get it repaired when i can afford to!) if it rains you can see water marks on it, even if it was cleaned the day before, it's horrendous, i have no idea why people buy black cars out of choice... it drives me nuts!0 -

Its certainly not worth £2,000 more, but the one you are showing is cheap because of the relatively high miles.0 -

Yip and both red and green cars fade badly in the sunlight. You can only sell them on 3 years later when it's dark. And who buys in the dark?0 -
Thanks. I have no problem with black, my current car is black and causes me no bother.
I've spoken to the car place who had the same car, 12,000 miles for 1k less (£7995). Its sold but they said they can usually source Ford Fiestas easily so I'm waiting for a sales person to call back to discuss.
Obviously finding an exact replica will be hard, so how much should I be looking at paying if its done say 6000 more miles etc?
Everything else will be the same, I'd imagine its just going to be mileage that is lower or higher. And I'd like to be prepared with how much reasonably I should expect the price to change inline with that.0 -
Between
£7,950
Ford Fiesta 1.4 Zetec
12,000 Miles
2011 (11)
OR
Ford Fiesta 1.4 Zetec
8,000 Miles
2011 (61)
£8,493
Is the saving on miles and 1/2 year of age worth an extra £493 or not really?0 -
It's not all on age/mileage. Don't forget condition and history.
Some cars may not have been serviced according to the schedule, so the warranty is void. Some might be ex rentals or marks/dents to the exterior.
Plenty of other factors to consider.
I've been looking at used cars recently and seen some blindly well looked after 10 year ones and some absolutely awful two year old ones and many in between.
You need to see both cars to make a decision.0
