Cant believe its 2 years since i started this post!

The next 6 month update should hopefully involve hubby and i having seen a broker, and knowing where we stand regards a mortgage, fingers crossed eeekkk :rotfl:

We are in the process of having the new kitchen fitted, we are halfway through painting the house, and then new carpets to be fitted, all this should be completed for xmas :)

As the kitchen is sorted, our targets for savings goal to reach August 2016 are now a mere £35,000 :rotfl: £5,500 at minute!!

Its 2 years hubbys had capital one card with perfect payments, no other debt at all.

We continue to be careful with our cash to achieve the maximum savings each month, it will be worth it!!

Its my lovely hubbys birthday today :bdaycake:

And tomorrow we celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary

All in all we have a lot to be grateful for, a happy marriage, jobs, our and our children's health, and aiming for our new life in our new home next year all being well :happyhear

Heres to a frugal 6 months saving for our new house, we will give it our best shot in the last few months of our 3 year quest to be where we want to be together :heartsmil

  • Loved reading this & congratulations, you were in a similar situation that I am experiencing now, can I ask how old you both are? My partner & I are both 40 & are worried that we won't be expected on age grounds?

    Thanks for the lovely comments!

Husband and I are 45 and 42. You should be fine age wise in your 40s, obviously depending on lender, most lend up to, and some even beyond retirement age, providing the income is there to support payments . The more you can put down the better as deposit we think, as we are looking at max term of 20 years for our new mortgage :)

What stage are you at pitbull?
