Well, that didn't turn out as expected. DD 'lost' her job for the summer as they don't need her, they might take her back after the summer. Haircuts are £21 not £6 so looks like that'll be a wait away.

    Arghh!
  • I am only popping in to sympathise as I have no technical knowledge to share. Divorce is hell and it is too complicated to do alone. You will also lose out big time if you don't do it while your youngest is still at school. Many solicitors do free or very cheap consultations. (Mine was £5) and let you pay in instalments. I really advise you to do this so that you don't get turned over. By taking my solicitor's advice I ended up £20,000 better off than I would have agreed to with ex oh and he didn't complain, I found out later that he still felt he got off lightly.

Go for it. You owe it to your daughters, they sound great.
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Thanks secret squirrel, that seems to be good advice if divorce comes about. For now I would be satisfied just to be physically separated - different homes etc. does that sound like a cop out? I'm quite overwhelmed with it all.
I might take your advice though and do the free consultation. It can't do any harm I imagine.
    Thanks

So, now there's a goal in this DFW life of mine.

I need to raise £1000 to put the house on the market. I don't have any credit available to me (see SOA, it's dire), so it's either going to be through earning or selling.

The aim is to raise the money as quickly as possible. The sooner it's done, the sooner I can get the ball rolling.

I have got a loft full of 'junk stuff' plus some old jewellery. It's quite a far-away target, but I'm up for the challenge, because the reward will be massive!
