I suffer from anxiety and depression and am on medication for both.

I claim JSA and understand that my condition does not stop me from working - there are loads of people in work that suffer from the same issues.

However I do sympathise with the OP in that going to sign on is very stressful I panic every time I go as I worry that I will be sanctioned and you are treated as a 'non' person. I do not want to go on the sick as I am I am able to work but believe there should be some understanding from the JC advisors that some people do suffer from MH issues and a bit of understanding of this would be appreciated.

I total agree with you . the JC should understand more what it's like to have mental health

OP, there is nothing stopping you from signing off JSA. Particularly if it gives you panic attacks when signing on. Not sure how you coped in making a fresh claim for JSA in the first place.

The same principle would apply to claiming ESA, but it will take more than showing a bottle of anti depressants to claim ESA and chances are you will not be entitled to that either.

How will you cope in getting into work? A workplace can feel even more intimidating than a job centre. JSA is only meant for those who are actively seeking work, which nowadays involves a lot more than simply turning up and signing on the dotted line. If you cannot handle making a claim for JSA, how will you handle making any other benefit claims?

Nobody can force you to claim JSA, if you feel you can do without it there is nothing stopping you from turning your back on it.

I would not expect you could easily claim any other sort of benefits, but nothing ventured is nothing gained. It just means you will have to grit your teeth enough to put in for another claim.

Urgent Help needed benefits advice .
    Hi.
I wonder if someone can help me. I'm currently on JSA and was wondering if there any other benefits I could clam for depression. If there is any other benefits I can clam . would I need a letter from my doctor ? in order to clam the benefit(s) I hope you can help.
    thank you

This was your posting of 18 months ago. Don't you think it is time to start helping yourself? Or do you see yourself making the post in another 18 months? Or years?

Get it straight : THERE IS NO MORE MONEY IN THE POT! If you want to improve your life, then only you can do that. You are what - 26 years old now? Time to grow up.

Perhaps it's a ploy to claim ESA for schizophrenia?

If people are going to troll, you'd think they'd take a bit more care to cover their tracks!

going and talk to my doctor . I do not need people being so unhelpful . negative words like this that cause my panic attack to start . untill you have metal health please do not come here with negative words . I came here for advice and advice only . when one has metal health , all one need is support and NOT negative words .
