Apparantly if i downgrade i'll be entering a new 12 month contract. My current contract ends on 24 July they say, so i'll just keep going until then and cancel at the end of july.

Thank you for all your help :)

I've never heard of this either. I'd ring them again (you'll prob get a different person) and ask them can they downgrade you (state you're having financial difficulties) and if this involves entering into another 12 month contract!?!

Also, read their t&c if it states that you can downgrade after a certain period then see if it mentions in t&c that it does involve another 12 months contract.

I know o2 let you downgrade your tariff after only 6 months but no where does it state that you would be required to enter a new 12 month contract.

Exactly, it sounds a bit odd, i think you must have got a advisor who was due on break or something like that. Sad, but it does happen. And definatley check the contract t&c coz if you didn't agree to it, then you don't have to do it.

    good luck.
