I'm only going on the ones I have known.
My sis's foreign white (like a siamese but white with similar blue eyes) used to eat socks, then progressed onto jumper sleeves, then any washing at all that had been left within reach- the family used to wear holy clothes:rotfl:
ragdolls are lovely too- gorgeous animals. But I never got to know anyMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I have a 6 year old red boy. Don't know about persians needing to be in pairs & being sociable - he HATES other cats, all other animals in fact, he only like people.
Get a hooded tray with a door/flap & the bath crystal type cat litter (thats the ONLY one I would use when Ted had a tray), They sell it in some supermarkets & pets at home, its about £4 for a small bag, but its great. As yours gets older you can see how sensible s/he is & how you feel about where you live. I let Ted out now as I live in a village, but he was an indoor cat till we moved here.
Feed him/her Royal Canin, Persian variety, it's developed with persians genetic health weaknesses in mind; unrinary traite, easy to eat with flat mouths ect. It also helps with furballs. & keeps the poos smaller & less smelly. Good for the teeth too.
I would never buy any other cat than a persian, they have the most fab personalities. They are not so independant as most cats, but a bit clingier & more needy like little dogs. You will know they are there. Yes, they do like to sleep a lot, great for workers.
Glad I read about the furminator, I will have to get one.
Raise them from young to bath & be blown dry, then grooming will be easy. Just like all humans have different sorts of hair, persians have different types of hair too. Some are silky & easy to groom, some are more woolly & harder to look after.
Yes, the theft thing is a worry. I did think we had lost him once, we printed posters offering a £300 reward. A pedigree without papers is like a cross, worth no more than a moggie. I figured it was in someones interest to return him to me, get the £300 & go & buy their own WITH PAPERS TOO. Actually he was asleep in a tiny CD cabinet (he was younger & trimmer then, LOL). I'm almost sorry he's been netured, otherwise he could have given us a kitten. I dread the day we loose him.
Keep looking & get a persian between 13 weeks & 6 months.0 -
