Just really popped in to say goodbye for a couple of weeks and to make you the teeniest bit jealous.
Off in an hours time to Gatwick on the first stage of our trip to Symi. I will think of you all while I'm sunning myself on the balcony of our apartment, reading for hours and just looking up occasionally to enjoy the fabulous view.

Love to you all, hugs to those who are suffering and hopes that no-one has any great disasters before I get back.

    Morning TTFTM and all,

I did my usual after hubby went to work this morning and that was go back to bed. I love having the bed to myself as he is such a fidgit. Ive packed his bag with his usual medication. Hayfever medication and paracetamol. He suffers so badly with heat exhaustion. He thinks he is working inside this week so it shouldnt be so bad.

Youngest is up and out. He's taken his skateboard with him so i doubt if i'll see him till much later.

Spoke to eldest son last night. Seems like he's got a summer project too. All the men around me seem to have summer projects. A friend and neighbour, (a few doors down) came round to see how hubby was doing with his last night. Apparently hubby is doing better with his than our friend is as his is rotten and the parts for it are near impossible to get. Still, i dont think he will be spending £300 on a new engine for his like my husband will be. Anyway, eldest son is ok (i'd still love to talk to him when he's half way sober as he makes more sense).

News on my middle son. He's ok, working thankfully and ok. I havent seen him for a couple of months. I'd still like to pick them up and move them out of the grotty flats that they are living in but thats the Mummy coming out in me.

Had another go at crochetting this morning. I keep picking the hook up and giving up. This morning i ended up with a granny square with 5 corners..... this is so typical of me :D

I love the idea of keeping chickens but the last thing i need right now is something else to look after. I'll make exception to the Grandchild though. I love having little ones round me.

Molly, please look after yourself today. Sounds like your suffering with a bit of heat exhaustion too. I hope you havent got a lot planned for your day. :(

I've decided i want to go to Bourton on the Water sometime in the next month or so. We used to take the kids a lot when they were little to paddle in the ford but havent been since our motorbike days. Its such a beautiful place.

Monnagran have a safe journey and have a wonderful time.

Hope you all have a lovely day and dont forget the sunscreen!

A beautiful morning here but I fear it's the last of the sunshine for this week as rain is forecast overnight.

Did really well at the allotment yesterday despite the strimmer packing up as soon as we got there, fuel blockage I think. Dh mowed everything and dug some trenches for the (very late) early potatoes, I put the bean sticks up and got a nasty splinter in the process, then we had a good tidy round, filled a little raised bed with compost, dug out some brambles and planted a blueberry which was pot bound. All looks soooo much better and I was glad to be sunning myself there rather than amongst the crowds of sun seekers.

Must go back and water everything later as it dries out so quickly now. It's lovely to see all the buds and blossom after last year's wash out.

Dogs are sunning themselves and our last chicken is trying to find some shade. She is 4 and hasn't laid for over a year so is just a pet. Would like to get some more but the last lot made such a racket on summer mornings that one of the neighbours complained to the council. That neighbour has gone but I can't face the stress of it happening again so this will be our last chook unless we move to the middle of nowhere.

We have roadworks threatened for the next 10 days so I'm about to venture out and see what the delays are likely to be.

    Take care of yourselves :)
  • Morning all

Miserable drizzly weather here today so the washer can have a day off I think!
I helped DH in the garden yesterday and must have over done it cos I ache so much today :( it hurts to walk so I think I'm going to have a nice easy day today
I was up at 6 so all housework is done, Chicken is in the oven ready for tea tonight,

Going to pop to the chemist to pick up DS's prescription for a volumatic spacer, he has had an awful cough for 4 weeks now, I took him to see the doc last week and he gave him a salbutamol inhaler, I'm not convinced its going to help him cos its sounds like a chesty cough not a wheezy one but we shall see.

Might even pop into the village hall cos they have books for sale, I've been buying a few everytime I take DS to Beavers on a friday, there was a Cooking for Christmas book I nearly got last wk but decided against but when I got home I wished I had bought it so fingers crossed its still there.

Hope you all have a lovely day .. Lots of ((((hugs)))) to those that need them xx

    Afternoon all,

redruby I hope you only risked one eye! :rotfl:

Judi you know you have to let the boys live their lives, hard as it is on you - BIG HUGS.

    monnagran have a great holiday.

Lovely sunny day in County Down, just a pity I am in an office looking out, instead of the other way round. Rain forecast for rest of week :(

More sorting out of bedroom stuff this evening and get car ready for service in the morning.

    Have a good day everyone.

Nar your right letting them live their lives is hard, when you can see what a hash they are making of it. Actually its harder than raising them. The hugs are appreciated thankyou.:)

Jacksmummy. My middle son was asthmatic. He rarely had a wheezy cough.

I forgot to mention, hubby saw his accountant last night as its time for him to submit his self assessment form. Fingers crossed he will have enough back to pay off his loan (though i'm pretty sure he will just keep it in the bank as work isnt very secure at the moment).
More excitement on our evening walk last night, we went to a local beauty spot
for a walk round, and came across a couple (in full view of the path) enjoying
    some adult time :rotfl:they
knew we were there because the man stood up naked from the waist down and turned
around to show his all, he was very proud :D,
think they may have been inviting us to join in. Each to their own and all that,
but it was still early evening, and there was lots of families about with young
    children.

Maybe you had stumbled across the local 'dogging' spot redruby.:D

I know exactly what you are going through. I/we had problems with youngest daughter trying (quite badly) to make her way in the world. We had to point out to her that her bad life choices were going to get her into a lot of bother. When it happened, and we stood by her, she realised that Dad and Stepmum loved her unconditionally. Her lifestyle changed almost instantly and she became a (nearly ;) ) model daughter. She now confides in her stepmum and asks advice from us regularly. She, in return, gets treated in the high esteem she deserves.

Judi I hope you reach this stage with your boys someday soon.
