If you look at the ticket, it'll be per kilo, or per 100g or similar. Easy enough to work out the cheapest.
Sorry, should probably have specified that the second example was my local green grocers, not Asda!
They price things all over the place, with a mix of metric and imperial. It's a bit of a PITA.0 -
The price of fruit and veg in Tesco is just ridiculous. I've started buying it at a local deli where it is a fraction of the price, where possible. Aldi is quite cheap as well.0

The grapes was just an example. I'm not sure exactly which products it was, but I've seen one lot of an item at say £1 per 100g and others where it's priced as "per ea".
I've also noticed that they often price things like drinks as say "10.5p per 100ml" and "54p per 500ml".
Admittedly, it's not at all hard to work out how they compare, but it's be nicer if they just kept to the same volume.0 -

That's like the fruit & veg market stalls round here, they price everything like "£xx for 3lbs" etc so impossible to work out the "real" price on the spot.0 -

Unless, of course, you were initiated into the black art of dividing a number by three.There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

The loose ones have been chewed on by chavy rabid children trying to escape trolley jail and horse flies. The ones in tubs are more expensive due to having been hand picked by virgins and washed in water from Lourdes that will cure leprosy. Not all fresh produce is equal. (except in North Korea)0

So you divide by 3 and multiply by 2.2.
It's hardly rocket science.There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
450g = 1lb (near enough)0
