Not for my 'er indoors, it's not...

Staff at the Abbey branch said their system was down too.

Pity they can't put a message on the homepage, or log-on page, rather than let you log-in and then say, sorry-unavailable.
Strange - when I tried to log in for the (seemed like!) 20th time this afternoon, they had put a 'sorry this service is unavailable, please try later' screen up.
Will try again tomorrow - can't be bothered now!
    :j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

I just managed to log in, but still can't transfer money from my e-saver to my current account. It lets you go almost all the way through with it but then says this service is unavailable. Still no information - no notice on website, no recorded message on phone banking service, they could even email; their customers who are registered for online banking. I tried to phone yesterday at about 7pm but was left on hold for an interminable time. As this must be affecting up to hundreds of thousands of people, I'm surprised no consumer journalist seems to have picked up on it and publicised it - it's probably the only way we'll get any information out of Abbey.

I was able to log-on to e-banking OK today & yesterday -- only, today I wasn't able to transfer funds between E-savings & current. So I rang 'em & hung on [fortunately via 18185, not on their o845 no.] for 20 minutes. Then the CS girl said she couldn't transfer from E-Savings so i had to hang on a few more mins before another person was able to effect it for me.

He gave me a different no. to ring - in case 'transfers' are still down tomorrow - 0845 6004388. He said this no.would get to the right dept.quicker than going all round the houses. HTH.

Thanks for that, I'll give it a go and see if I can do the transfer. However, I intend to challenge any overdraft interest should they feel the need to charge me any, as my current overdraft is entirely down to them.

oscarhugo, the number they gave you is the internet banking support line. I got straight through, but they had to put me through to the "e-saver team" to do a transfer. I then got stuck in the same interminable queue. It is lunchtime, maybe I'll try later today.

Well, there ya go, Saxmund -- you just can't trust anything anybody tells you, can you...? You can't & I can't! Well, I tried!

A big IT implementation took place over the weekend. The migration of debit cards from Abbey infrastructure over to the new Santander platform.

This will be the first of a number of big migrations this year.

Well they messed it up big time then, still can't transfer using the ATM... haven't tried to get through on the phone. I'm not wasting my time in a queue, don't see why they can't draft in a few temps to answer the phones.

I didn't have to wait so long on the phone this morning -- mebbe I was just lucky -- but i rang the 01908 237963 number & pressed the number for savings rather than banking. The (N.Irish) girl said she couldn't ordinarily transfer from Esavings to current for me over the phone but, since the system was down...
