Let us know if you manage to sell it as i have two almost new in my loft that I could do with getting rid of as well as goodness knows how much other stuff I've kept " just in case I might need it " :)

Again, check eBay for make and model to see how much they might fetch.

It can really only be used as a player - the tuner will be analogue and now useless <snip>

Despite this, BBC/TVL still include VCR's in the devices that can be used to receive live television broadcasts.

If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

Assuming you're not taking the P, the highest recent sale of a Betamax machine on eBay was at £210, so at the risk of repeating myself.....

There are VCRs with digital tuners. I have a Panasonic VHS/HDD/DVD which, if I wanted to use in this fashion, would record to VHS.

They can receive live broadcasts post-digital switchover, but analogue VCRs cannot.

    Noted with thanks.

So, any visiting commission-hungry "Crapita goon" would just see a VCR and get out the visit confirmation/confession form for you to sign.

At which point, you introduce Exhibit A to the court - the owner's manual for the analogue tuner VCR, showing the date on which the manufacturer printed it (pre-digital), showing how it gets tuned in (to analogue channels), along with supporting docs regarding date of digital switchover etc.

Are you aged between 18-24 ?

taken from article I mentioned above

Those regions most likely to still record via the traditional tape method in the last year are Scots and Londoners (both 15%). Perhaps surprisingly, young people aged 18-24 (15%) are the most likely to have taped a programme in the last year using a VCR than any other age group.
