I have just moved 12 tonnes of top soil from front to bottom of long garden. Filling a disused pond.
    Tips.
    Don't over fill the barrow.
Keep the load forward on the barrow.
Make sure the barrow has pneumatic tyre.
Take a rest every 5 barrow loads.
You will be fitter at the end than you were at the beginning.
If you can get some help, even for an hour or two. It makes a big difference.
By the way, I will be 75 next month.
I did mine in one 6 cubic meter load and 2 x 3 cubic meter loads.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

£1 at ton! Did they really only get £30 for shifting 30 tons? A bag every 10 minutes to get close to minimum wage.

OP could you put something on Facebook to find casual labour known to your friends.

Find someone with an engine crane with a one ton lift, then wheel to wherever you want it provided you are going over drive or concrete.

I thought slave labour had been outlawed in this country yrs ago

Do you get them to wash & polish your car for a packet of spangles
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Better still, blag some pallets and a pump truck from somewhere if it's going on the flat. Get the driver to put the bags down on the pallets and just roll them round.

OP - whereabouts are you? Might be someone on here who's up for bit of cash.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

This doesn't seem to dissimilar - work wise - to what I'm doing.

How long did it take you? (in man hours - or person hours if you are pc! :p)

If you have the space to get from front to back then hire a 1 ton engine hoist to lift and wheel the bags around
