When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Morning peeps!

I am up early today as I'm off to work, I don't particularly mind working bank holidays as I still get 2 days off :rotfl:

This is me:-
- Checked bank, no sign of maintenence ex promised me would be in yesterday...
- Working 8-2pm for £100 over time
- DM looking after DD for me :D
- Write Mr T's list and act on it, stick to it this time!!! And definitely check freezer contents first
- Submit purge claim to manager for commission
- Try not to work too hard
- 1x HC in machine on quick wash already
- Text DM to ask her to hang the above on the line and get second load ready
- Have a chilled out afternoon with hopefully no spending!

Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

    Off to pick up my daughter today, she has finished uni and is moving out of her rented place. She isn't the typical student living on pasta and noodles so my store cupboard will be replenished with her food stuff.

    A few MS jobs before I go and then hoping the weather stays nice as I need to trawl the car boots looking for the last two things for my costume. We all need something to look forward to on the DFW road and my treat to myself is a night out at the theatre to see the Rocky Horror show and of course, one has to dress up!!!!

    6. Read library book: John Lewis-Stempel's "The Wild Life" about a man who lives for a year on foraged food.
    7. Look at the Neilson App which Martin describes as an "Android app that pays you for [doing] nowt" when the site is working again. (Link) Site still down at 4.30pm.
    8. Read tabloid article on Extreme Couponing. (Link) Done
    9. Have a look at Martin's Twitter feed. (Link) Done
    10. Forage some wild garlic roots as we are low on pickled garlic.
    11. Barbeque on the beach for lunch. Done, weather's lousy here.

  • Morning guys I hope you're all chipper this lovely spring day- at least it is where I am! Thanks for starting Josie, how's the house coming along?

    alley how is the job hunt coming along? Do you know what you're wanting to find?

    I have been loving my holiday this week, went to London on Thurs and was a tourist on a budget! Saw the changing of the guards, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, The Tate Britain, all on foot. Then we went to Borough Market for a delish lunch, on to the British museum of Zoology, finishing up in soho for a cocktail before going home, had such fun!

    Today I really need to get on with some bits:

    * checked banking
    * updated spreadsheet, still some more to do but lost heart!
    * painting spare bedroom, all prep work now done. Might even get 2nd coat done if I get a wiggle on!
    * all meals from stores
    * look through cupboard/fridge and ensure nothing is going to be in edible soon!
    * go for a run after 1st coat of paint
    * quick shower
    * clean bathroom & hallway
    * hopefully go for a walk later
    * pimms in the garden when oh has finished working

    Ok that's enough work for one day! X

    ally When I did the payroll for a very large company we only processed leavers at the end of the month so some people had to wait up to four weeks for their P45 etc especially if they had just missed the last cut off date. Perhaps your employer has the same system?

    Good evening everyone, I am returning after being missing for a couple of days due to dd being in hospital with asthma.

    So far today I have:
    • Sorted through my to do list and made a list of what I need to get done, as I am going to have a busy weekend trying to catch up
    • Went to the chemist and got dd's prescription, as the hospital were unable to give her the medicine that she needed for coming home
    • Looked through the freezer and decided on what to have for dinner to avoid the temptation to get a take away
    • Sorted and placed order for work

    This evening I am aiming to:
    • [STRIKE]Check bank and move money around[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Take mum back home, she was staying here to help whilst I was in hospital[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Sort a shopping list using the meal plans and place order[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check through some emails[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Nectar adpoints, Swapits, Swagbucks, TCB, Postcode lottery, Birthday bingo[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check work emails[/STRIKE]
    • Write up some recipes that I am planning to use next week
    • Catch up with the flylady thread
    • Sort through the post that has come in this week and schedule anything that needs to be done next week Work in Progress
    • Do an hours course work
    I think that is more than enough for me to get done this evening, after dinner. Hope everyone is having a good Saturday/weekend, Hugs to those that need them x
