This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Hi Guys!
Have had a very bad night, so thought I would start the daily thread. Hoping the nurses come earlier than later! I need extra pain killers!! Woke at 1.30am and couldn't move so I had to wake OH to help me....I hate having to do that and shouldn't be doing it at 38!! OH made me a hot drink at 2am and not been back to sleep since.
Feel fed up and need lots of hugs xx
Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning all,
Leaving for the airport in 15mns so thought I pop on here. Went to DD1' y/day as a suprise for her b/day, we were 45 mns into a 1hr journey when I asked DH if he turned the potatoes off that were simmering on the hob. No! was his reply. So he dropped me off at DD's and drove home to find a very burnt pan, thank god it didn't catch fire. DD2 brought me home.
Hope you all have a good day.
PEN PIN, have a ((((((huge Hug from me))))))0 -
Thanks guys! They should be here around 7am, so holding on :-)
Wanted to mention that I know many people on here are Gluten Free and Aldi do 6 large thick Hotdogs in the glass bottles with a 95% meat content in the brine and they are GF. At £1.25, it seems like a good buy and great for BBQ or instead of sausages? OH bought 4, but if they're nice, he'll stock up on them.
They also had many other good offers and spent £20.52 and the hotdogs, 15 FR eggs, cornflour, 500g brown sugar for coffee for OH, bananas, cauliflower, parsnips, vine roms for OH, raspberry posh jam with seeds, new potatoes, 2 x cottage cheese, ham, brie, Boursin style cheese, hot cross buns, energy drink x 2, individual wrapped croissants for DD, pressed OJ with bits, pasta sauce GF x 2 jars, petit pois, 2 x ciders for OH and 3 yogurts. He did very well I thought! Also petrol was 129.9 at Morrisons, so filled up half tank to full for £30.
He also went to poundland as theres a £2 off a £12 spend and bought stuff we needed, mainly branded stuff and bought a WM cleaner to get rid of all the limescale, sludge etc and one for the DW and both have worked very well. Many companies charge £30+ to do this for you. Great value!! They also had the Shake'n'vac which is usually £1.50+ each, so he got 2 of those

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Bright and sunny with a clear blue sky, a bit blowy and a bit chilly at the moment.
Dinner last night was HM ham and mushroom pizza, skinny chips, breaded chicken pieces in baps for the menfolk, I had jacket potato with tuna mayo and salad, chocolate birthday cake for dessert. DS2 seemed to have a good day he is overjoyed with his phone and has spent most of the evening being glued to it! My sis, niece and nephew came over with a gift as did my parents. He spoke to my bro on the phone as they live away and he had received a card and his prezzie is en route.
We are going away shortly - managed to have a reasonably productive day yesterday - got to the bank, food shopping, got majority of the bags into the caravan so all we have to take this morning is the coolbag, my rucksack, bbq and gas bottles and, of course, us. Really looking forward to getting away as haven't been away for a while and hoping some of our good friends will be there so we can have a catch up and a few glasses of something! I will walk into the little town where we are near, it's an absolute nightmare to park so it's lovely to walk and not have to worry - hoping the menfolk won't want to come with me so I can have a browse at my leisure and have a bit of "me time" - I know thats a bit selfish but it's good for the soul.
See you all later.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all:j:j
Another here who's had a very bad night,
Bed 10:30; Woke 12:15, In pain In my arms,
By 12:30 My legs were also killing me,
I got up them. The last time I looked at the time was 3:40am, I seem to have fallen off to sleep Just after that,
I woke up at 5:20, But fell back off to sleep and I woke up again About 20mins ago,
So another night In The chair,
It has been about 2 weeks ish Since Iv had a bad night, But last night was one of the worse that Iv had,
Plan for today,
We are off to my wife's nan's house as she would like her grass cut, She dose not have a lot of it. So it will only take about 5 Mins to do it. To tell you the truth It takes longer to get the mower out and put it away than to cut it. Still it keeps her happy and she also gets to see the Kids at the same time.
We will then pop off into town.
To get a few things. We don't need to buy a lot this week which is a good Job really.
Shall pick a chicken up for dinner tomorrow.
Think I might try and fit a nap In at some point too, I have a feeling that I , may need one later,
Looks like we have had a rain shower here this morning, They have said that we could have showers this morning and that It would dry up later on.
Well I hope that you are all have a great day,
Enjoy :j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Morning everyone,
PP Hope that the nurses have been.
LW, Molly, Judi and Jools Hugs for you all.
Halight Sorry that you had such a bad night, I didn't realise all your problems till I read your answer to Islandman's question.
Lovely sunny morning here although it looks like it has rained overnight, shame I left some washing on the line overnight!
WM is on and I think that I will start another sourdough loaf soon.
Hoping for a quiet day today, I am feeling tired out.
Tea will be something with mince.
Happy Star Wars day everyone "May the Fourth be with you!":D0 -
Morning all
Not been around much due to me having the worse toothache ever
no sleep at night for 5nights meant nothing whatsoever got freshly cooked or any cleaning got done in the house... Plus my mother came down from the midlands to stay for a week... Don't know what was worse her or the toothache.. Lol
Anyhow I'm now fully functioning back on the OS wagon and raring to go.
I've been up since 6 this morning so managed to get most of the housework done
DS is off to a birthday party @ 10 till 12 today so whilst he is there I'm gonna visit a friend who lives round the corner from where the party is being held, saves me driving 12miles back home
Then this afternoon I'm going out foraging for dandelion for the rabbits
Hope everyone has a lovely day xx0 -
good morning chums bright and sunny here and it looks klike another nice day hopefully.I have some baking to do this morning then mount ironing to tackle this afternoon, but I have quite a bit of catch-up t.v. to watch and I listen to the wireless in the morning in the kitchen.I have a feeling that my eldest DD may drop in at sometime today as West Ham are at home so her OH and my dgs will be off watching that so she gets a couple of hours free then so I shall make her some of her favourite biscuits just in case:):)
Tomorrow youngest DD and I plus the boys are going to the beach weather permitting so it will either be Westgate,Joss Bay or Viking Bay as they all have nice sandy beaches there The boys and DD go crabbing and son-in-law reads the paper and I read my book and the dogs run in and out of the sea.We take a picnic so the only expence will be an ice cream.Inexpensive day out and the boys love it,We are ideally situated where we live that the sea is no more than 40 minutes away and we know which beaches are good and which get too crowded.I hope everyone has a good weekend what ever you are doing and <<hugs>> for the poorlies and sad
Cheers chums JackieO xxx
P.S. 4th May and no shopping bought yet so food purse is still intact
