He's just sold this site for 100 squillion pounds, why does he not just buy a mansion, loads of helicopters and ferraris and and stuff, and go on holiday a lot now? I know I would.......:o

The sort of person that spends over a decade building a business like this and building a personal brand like Martin has is not the sort of person that is desperate to cash out and move on. He has demonstrated his interest is more than just financial many times.

Generally the sort of people that think "If I had just made x I'd retire and never work again!" are the sort of people that would never be building a business like this and selling it for such a large sum of money.

Martin, like most successful people, probably doesn't have money as the end game to his working life. After you reach a certain amount of money you never need to work again, Martin reached that point a long time ago and the difference between 5 and 50 million is not life changing.

Haha - are you Peter Tatchell?! Martin has a wife and child and, like a lot of people who are on television can come across (no pun intended) as slightly camp...

But then - even John Barrowman was only bis€xual when I knew him, hehe :o

it is cringy and the women is dire, it does explain things in very easy to understand bites so if you SKY + it and fast forward to the bits you want then it serves a purpose.
Most of you guys are experts anyway so don't need to watch it

Well I find it quite amusing and Martin and Saira Khan seem to work well together. Gives out useful information as well, perhaps aimed more at people who would not usually visit this site. I'm glad it's on.

I watched two of the programmes, but had to force myself through the second show. Much of what is discussed, comes straight from the advice given by members on the forums.

I found the show frustratingly annoying, I guess you would have to be a hardcore Martin Lewis fan to stick with the show. I find more information and informative advice\tips are readily available in the forums than the trickles on the show could ever offer.

This sort of education is badly needed. The vox pops show how ignorant people are, so if this helps them become more financially savvy, it has to be worth it.

Trouble with that statement is that from what I've seen, most 10 year olds have a reading age of about 5.....

To be fair, most advice on the forum comes straight from previous advice on the forum! :)

Quite a lot of the time here we deal with facts; there is only one correct answer to a posed question and how people deal with that is dictated by common sense. The rest of the time it is opinion, and as usual an opinion carries more weight when a "celebrity" adopts it.

Like Wikipedia, the forums are an educational resource and I don't think we can begrudge experts that may be using it for research, even if they do appear on TV to repeat the advice!

The TV show is not for me either but I agree with those who say that it's bringing the message to a new audience. It's hard to imagine fans of that TV show spending time searching through the forums as well.

I don't doubt that ML's presentation is governed by what the producer of the show decides, it could just as easily have been a serious informative show, as it is it's a serious message mixed up in foolery, good for some maybe but I doubt their attention span is going to be long enough for them to retain anything useful.
