welcome to the world?
you think i have spent my entire life having my @rse wiped by other people?
o was a single working mother, paid full rent and poll tax/cpimcil tax and only received child benefit.
i worked for 30 years until my sight deteriorated to the point where i could no longer continue.
dont try to give me lessons on what living in the real world is like
So why do you find the concept so alien?0 -

Nanny I am so pleased for you :j
Well done for being proactive in finding a solution instead of moaning about the BT while sitting on your bum.
Of course, some won't be pleased, haters will always hate no matter what you do. I'm sure those same haters have taken steps to improve their own lives but you cheeky thing you for doing the same
GlasweJen, I am really sorry to hear once again you had no luck, i'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you like Nanny have good news for us soon.0 -
the layout is the best part ... the rooms are in exactly the same position in the new place as in my current place, just a missing door where the second bedroom was!
it seems that im not doing the moving ... i have about 8 people that are doing it for me ( they all offered before anyone accuses me of taking advantage) my PA and her boyfriend are going in tomorrow to paint some walls for me ( i have the paint left from when i decorated this flat.
it doesnt seem like a priority, but i really need some walls painted, as if they are all cream i cant tell where one wall ends and another starts!
That's great, and no you're right. If it gets a lick of paint at least you'll know the walls are clean too. We did that with the DD's flat. Although it was clean, and pretty nicely decorated, it wasn't to her taste, so we called on family members who all had their rollers at the readyWe were then able to paper the 2 walls that she wanted papered (one in bedroom and one in livingroom) after she moved in. Although the zebra print one had to be done a couple of strips at a time cos it made you drunk looking at it :rotfl: But now she's in I can't see her moving again. I'd give my right leg for a flat like her's atm, it's so quiet
4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Just goes to show how effective the bedroom tax will be in freeing up much needed social housing. Clearly very welcome to those in need on the waiting list. I'm sure this practical demonstration of how the bedroom tax really works for people, both tenants and prospective tenants, will please everyone! How could it not be supported fully now?0

just an uodate and sorry to those who will be disappointed ....
today i received the keys to my new flat. 2 doors away from where i live now, and built at the same time as my current property.
it also has a fully landscaped garden complete with large patio atra and garden shed
I am pleased for you, I know you were worried about paying the extra rent.
And a two-bedroom flat available for a couple or small family

I got offered a flat today too! It's 3 floor up with no lift so I won't be moving any time soon.
Letter has went into our local councillor as a house that I did ask for has been allocated elsewhere even though I am apparently top of the list. I wouldn't mind but it has happened several times and I am classed as homeless and in housing crisis because of where I live just now.
Oh and my boiler broke, it's been a good day lol.
Oh.... I hope you get somewhere soon.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

the concept of what?
working?
i dont, but there are too many jobs about for blind people whose work experiences is jobs that involved being able to see
well you seem to see the screen, however I'm not so sure
The concept of managing on your income
Its what most people do. sadly I myself am yet to catch that leprechaun,so its whats in the bank and nothing else0 -

because i have soeaking softawre. ... so i dont actually 'see it'
lsong 1/5th of your total cash income, merely because you have a bedroom that you neither use or want is a difficult thing to adjust to when you only Hadd £100 in the beginning.
i manage very well indeed and have always been very good with money, but when you have benefit reduced with no other alternative accomodation, it seems very unfair.
lighting up the chalice ... as ive told you before, there is no shortage of housing in my area, apart from one beds.
the flat i am moving to was only classified for general use last week. until then there were NO 1 bed social housing. now in a population of around 10,00 we now have two 1 bed properties.
and i also know that the person moving into my flat is a single person with no children, as the HA asked them to give up the 1 bed place so that i could have it.
ok he works so wont claim HN.
but still not freeing up property for families...
or doesnt that matter if people are overcrowded as long as ge pays the rent himself?0
